Fan won't come on.

The fan seems to have stopped working on our Fedders a6p09s2a air conditioner. What are some of the tips we could check to repair? The condencer seems to be working but the fan doesn't come on to push the cold air.

First shut the power off then pull the blower out and try to spin the wheel if it spins freely then check the capacitor look for any swelling or dents and unless you know how to check it out, some AC parts stores may check it for you, but a lot of people just replace it first before the motor (it costs less usually around $5.00) if it's ok then the motor is probably bad and would need to be replaced.

I have a fedders (piece of junk)3 1/2 ton 4 year old unit. It runs fine during the evening after it cools off, but during the day it constantly cuts off and on unless I am spraying it with water. As soon...

sounds like your compressor is overheating is the compressor sweating down the sides? If it is you may have an airflow problem clean filters, clean blower fan motor and the evaporator coil. if this does not work you will need to have someone put a set of manifold gauges on it to see if the proper pressures are where they need to be. Also you can check the amps on the compressor to see if it is sezing or if it is locking out. The compressor is getting to hot is the reason when you squirt water on it runs because you are cooling it down. have you cleaned the condensor coil? Your head and suction pressures will give you a good idea.

A/c won't blow any air

check the status of the blower, if it is not working than try to open the front panel of the ac and check the wiring of the fan......or else contact the service authority. i'm sure that there will be any lose connection or the wire is disconnected/cut..............have a nice day :-)

Room air conditioner

Here is the link to the user manual; check page 6 first about timer controls and check there is nothing set there that may be stopping the fan. then check the fan hasnt been blocked or damaged, particularly by a damaged filter. Then the most likely problem would be a fault in the fan motor itself - sometimes these will have a thermal cutout switch which can be reset, or an electrical fuse. check for these if you fancy trying a repair yourself. If there is no cutout or fuse then a replacement motor would be probably worth it, although they can often be fixed, it is labour intensive and skilled so could be expensive. in the user manual are all the contact details for fedders dealers and repair facilities, also details of how to get spares (page 9). Hope this helps :)
