You need to login to the web page using the routers ip address and the usernamd and password which if its left to default will be username - admin and ignore the password field or visa versa ( ignore username field and password is admin ) click on ok and configure the settings into the router with regards to what settings your ISP gave you if you have a static ip address or a dhcp assigned one and any other relevant settings if required ( contact your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) and they should be able to advise you further.

I want to start internet in 4 computers what can i do for. i have a bsnl broadband connention. PLz help me

Hi Friend, In this case I would recommend you to please check if the BSNL modem is the wireless modem or the Wired modem. If it is a wireless modem then you can connect your system wirelessly to internet , provided that the laptop has the wireless card in it.
If it is a wired modem then you can connect your system with the LAN cable to that modem in each slots to get connected to the Internet.

I have a brand new Acer Inspire 5516, purchased for the wireless function. Have a DSL modem in the same room. Can't get the Acer to work wireless, only with the modem connected. What am I doing wrong? Or...

You need to have your DSL modem connected to a wireless router. The wireless router will then put your internet connection on the airwaves so your Acers will connect wirelessly to the router then they will be able to access the internet.

My DSL was installed. I am trying to hook up my linksys wireless router, when I do the internet does not work. What am I doing wrong?

modem type ? make sure it is on modem-only mode if it is a home-gateway type.

connect modem ethernet to router internet port (located next to the power port).

press & hold for 10 secs. the routers reset switch (until all lights blink).

launch the internet connection wizard & select "computer is connected to a gateway / internet connection is always ON"

Sharing a connection with wired and wireless computers

i just have a question, do you have an internet connection when your computer connected to your modem(the device provided by your Internet Service Provider)? Possible that the Belkin not working is that maybe you don't have internet from ypur ISP.

I suggest you to connect your computer first to the modem, turn off the pc and afterwards the modem, after 2 minutes, turn on the modem first, when all lights stable, turn on the pc and check if you can go online. If not, better contact your ISP first for them to check the connection. If everything working fine with your ISP. Reply to this post again and provide the following information.

Your ISP?
Brand of the Modem?
Brand of the Belkin Router?
Type of Connection you have form ISP, DSL or CABLE?
If DSL, please make sure that you have a username and password from your ISP?
How many computers do you have?
What is the Windows Version your using or the Operating System?

Thanks.

Wireless router problems

your computer is only connected to the signal coming from the router that's why it's saying connected but it seems that your router is not properly configured to provide internet access since your dns server is the same as your default gaetway. it could be that the your router is not in sync with the modem.
- if it's working before, tyr to power cycle everything by turning all the devices off then turn on the modem first, wait for all the lights on the modem to turn on then power on the router and the computer.

- if the router is for initial setup, kindly provide me you ISP, brand and model of the modem and how you connect the modem to the router and tell me if how you access the internet directly from the modem.

Wireless router

Yes, you can use wireless router with the modem. I guess the actiontech DSl router that you have is also Wireless one. If so, you can use just the DSL router for wireless connection. If you really want to use Dlink router with it, Connect the ( WAN port ) of the Dlink router to the ( LAN Port ) of the Action tech modem [ modem(LAN)-->Dlink(WAN) ]. Once you do this connection, better to do power cycle ( unplug the pwr to the dlink first, then, disconnect the pwr to action tech - wait 1min and plug the pwr to modem, wait for DSL light to be solid , then put the pwr back to dlink ). Make sure DSL light on the modem solid, internet light & WLAN light on the link glowing.
- Make Hardwire connection between the computer to Dlink and check the ip address on the computer whether it acquires the ip address from Dlink and then check the internet connection on the computer, it has to work. if computer not getting ip from dlink, try restarting computer.
- If hardwire connection on the dlink works fine and check the wireless connection.

For wireless configuration or assistance you may check this link:

please feel free to ask, if you have any more assistance.

Broadband connection problem

I do not have this hardware however from the internet I see a simple recommendation -- get the modem working with a direct connected computer. Then power off the modem and connect the wireless router also powered off. Then power on the modem, then power on the router. Inidications are that this will result in a functioning router.
