Question about Grohe Home

1 Answer

I have a leaky braided water supply line on my Whitehaus faucet. However, when I disconnect to replace, the connections aren't standard (e.g., I can't pick up a replacement braided water line at Home Depot) because one end has a small (1/4 inch) female connection, rather than the standard male 3/8 inch. Anyone know where I can find a replacement water line?

If you cannot find hose replacement from manufacturer/brand then just use standard braid and use reducer. it should be available at any hardware store and plumbing supplies, i would check first on e-bay, just in search put "1/4 3/8 braided", these braided connectors are usually used for hot water connection.

please write if it was helpful, rating will be nice too... ;-)

Where the spout pivots on the main body, there are a couple of washers, you can replace these washers pretty easily by removing the handle and then the "cover" from the unit. The water has to be shut off before you do this. I would take this oppurtunity to replace all the washers.

SOURCE: I have a new hose

There are 2 sets of nuts and washers underneath the faucet that holds the faucet in place. loosen them and the water lines (after turning the water off) faucet lifts off from the top of the sink. Replacement the the same, just in reverse. BE SURE TO USE TEFLON TAPE OR PLUMBERS PUTTY ON THE WATER LINE THREADS TO PREVENT COSTLY LEAKS.

I've encountered worn springs, and damged springs. You can purchase new springs at most hardware stores, make sure you take the one you have with you.
Make sure the one you buy is the same diamiter and length.

The braided hot and cold faucet hoses are too short to connect to the plumbing. Are there connectors that can be purchased?

Braided supply lines are available in a variety of lengths. Also, if practical, consider extending the stub outs to allow connection to the braided lines.

Need to change a washer on a leaky tap in kitchen sink

You will need to shut the water line off and disconnect from the faucet. Then you will need to unscrew the nut holding the faucet in place. Take the faucet out and then you will be able to disassemble the faucet and replace the washer. Newer faucets use a cartridge with the washer built in.

Do I have to remove the entire Delta kitchen faucet in order to replace the pullout faucet hose? If not, can you give me step by step instructions on how to replace it? Thanks.

Should be able to turn water supply off to faucet and trace the line connecting the pull-out faucet. Remove weight in center on hose line this weight helps retract the faucet head in with the line. Remove it and disconnect the line connection and remove the old one.

I have an American Standard single handle faucet in the bathroom.. When you open the faucet fully the flow rate is very small. The faucet was fine before. How do I adjust the faucet to so that the flow...

What is likely happening is a small piece of sediment has become lodged in either the mixing valve or in the aerator.

Begin with the easiest part first. The aerator is the threaded attachment from which the water comes out of the faucet. Remove the aerator from the faucet and run the tap without it installed. If the flow rate is good either clean or replace the aerator.

If this was not the problem then the solution becomes much trickier because the obstruction is likely in one of the lines coming into the faucet or in the body of the faucet called the mixing valve. This is where the hot and cold water mix inside the faucet.

Our next step is to create negative pressure inside the faucet in an attempt to remove the buildup restricting the flow.

If you don't have shut off valves under the sink you will need to shut off the water supply to the home, remove the faucet from the vanity/sink and perform the following procedure.

Shut the hot and cold water off underneath the sink and remove the supply lines at the shut off valves but leave them connected to the faucet. You will need to purchase two adapters for the aerator that will allow you to connect a garden hose from your closest water supply (kitchen sink) to the vanity faucet. You can find these at your local hardware store. You will also need a pail under the vanity to catch the water coming out of the vanity faucet supply lines. Connect the garden hose from an active water supply to the vanity faucet. With someones help have them turn the water supply on which will then run backwards through the vanity faucet and into the pail underneath the vanity. Be sure to open the vanity faucet taps to full so that water will run through the faucet. This should dislodge the obstruction.

Low hot water pressure on Grohe LadyLux.

1. If by replacing the flexible hose you mean the hose for the pull-out portion - you have more than likely kinked or bent the supply line to the hot (left) side of the faucet.
a) If this supply is braided, then simply shutting of the water supply, removing the braided line and either replacing or attempting to straighten it out will be your best bet.
b) If the supply is copper, you will have to cut the line cleanly and carefully. you will then most likely need a 1/4" or 3/8" compression/quickconnect BY 1/2" IP fitting to complete your repair.
2. Other possibilities include:
a) Failure inside the faucet body which will most likely be warrantied by Grohe if you push them hard enough.
b) A problem at your hot water tank, most likely the outlet side and *perhaps* you hadn't noticed the problem elsewhere.
c) The hot valve failing to reopen fully despite all appearances; applies if you turned off the water under the sink for your repair.

Hot and cold water trickles from faucet--seems nearly clogged.

The debre from turning off the valves comes through the lines and clogs up,usually the aireator, the screen at the end of the faucet. Take aireator off ,,colena and reassemble. If that does not work, disconnect the  lines at the shurtoff agaoun and look for hte obstructions for the aireator back to the shurtoffs.

Kitchen Faucet 6310 020 White - HOT WATER SIDE NOT WORKING

The faucet cartridge is more then likely blocked and the faucet will have to be disassembled in order to unblock it.
While it is disassembled you should slowly turn on the water lines to make sure the water ways in the faucet are clear. And thoroughly check the cartridge for damage. Replace if necessary.
Replacement Cartridges can be purchased at most plumbing supply houses or Big Box Stores such as Lowes or the like.
