Question about Zanussi Washing Machines

Open Question

Blown fuse Our Zanussi ZWG1120M washing machine blows the 15 amp fuse during the cycle. It would appear this happens during the wash cycle but before the rinse starts. The machine is under 3 years old and is only used between 3 and 4 times a eek. What is the likely cause. It is only th use in plug tha blow not th ip sitch. w have put an extnsion lead into another ocker and it sill blows so that would seem to rule out a general electrical fault. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated please

SOURCE: Fuse keeps blowing

This is probably a water heater problem  Try operating on the lowest temp  eg.15C If it goes through the cycle then its more than likely your water heater  You will need a refit

SOURCE: My washing machine is blowing my fuse!!

either the motor start capacitor on the machines motor is shorted, the motor winding itself is grounding itself out to the case and shorting or you may have a bare wire touching the metallic frame in the machine

fabric conditioner is dispensed during rinse cycle, if it does not work then either, try pouring hot water into dispenser, as conditioner tends to get goopie when dry, thus may have clogged up

Washing machine fuse blows every couple of washes

the machine is pulling to much power.check to see if it is on a 15 or 20 amp outlet. you said you replaced the fuse. the amp size should be on it. if it is a 15 amp fuse, plug the machine into a 20 amp circuit and see if the fuse blows then. it shouldn't since it wasn't blowing everytime on the 15 amp circuit, but never put a 20 amp fuse in a 15 amp socket! the fuse can handle the load[ no pun intended], but the electrical wire would burn not blowing the fuse, thus causing a fire.
hope this helps.

Eventually ended up with a Hotpoint . Felt sorry for the delivery guys from the electrical retailers having to keep dragging machines in and out .

assuming you had correct value fuse, fuse blowing may have been caused by a machine fault.after power outage, cycle should resume.
