Sometimes, what may seem like a washing machine leaking from bottom locations is actually one that leaks slowly from other spots. Slow leaks can accumulate beneath your washing machine making it seem like you have a bottom leak. For more help identifying the exact point of the leak, see Washing machine leaking.
Bottom leaks may be better identified using a newspaper. Just dry the floor and lay the newspaper beneath the washing machine before you test for leaks. Darkened sections map out your water leak. This method is not always foolproof, however. The best diagnosis will come from a qualified service professional inspecting your machine.
If your washing machine is leaking from bottom in the rear, you may need a replacement pump and professional installation. The leak could also be caused by a faulty air dome seal or a hole in the tub. For more troubleshooting steps to tackle that leak, see Washing machine leaking from bottom. I hope that helps!
131 error is 'repetitive Rotaty Position Sensor error'. It could be wiring, but more likely to be a problem with the RPS itself. It's not a huge job for a tech. Before spending any money, check under the machine and make sure that the inside of the cabinet hasn't had dirty/rusty water flung from the flywheel. If the cabinet is clean and there's no leaks from the small holes on the bottom of the flywheel it should be ok to fix. (Water leaks would be a terminal problem) Get a quote, but be aware that F&P machines can sometimes have a secondary fault which causes the primary problem!.....Good luck....Nomess
The screw in the washer tub, is not a factor in this. I'm not sure what brand of machine you have, but several machines have a fill hose that connects to the outer tub of the machine. Sometimes when a machine gets loaded heavily, during the spin cycle items in the machine can actually knock the fill hose right out of the tub. Then when the machine trys to fill the next time, all the water runs down the outside of the tub and leaks out of the bottom of the machine. Repair is to open up the machine. You'll need to remove the top cover and that will give you access to the hose/tub connection. It may be as simple as reinserting the hose back into the drum or you may need to replace it if it got too damaged and won't stay in the hole correctly. If you need specific how to's on opening up the machine, get back to us with the make and model info and we'll be happy to help you open that washer up! K
Check that your overflow pipe is higher than the pipe it goes into. As sometimes waste water, as it drains from the sink after washing up etc, will leak into your machine, and stagnate.
Best of luck.
For those with water on floor after wash, check my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". It could be something clogging drainage area at very bottom of the tub. I couldn't see the sock that was stuck in my FP's drain when I looked from the top between the white outer tub and the wash tub--everything looked fine. Then I removed the black motor/white plastic housing piece--Tip back washer and you should see this black electric motor/white housing on bottom. see my post for how to remove and check for plugged drain. it's really pretty easy.
don't know about outer tub holes, but glad i don't have that problem.
i hate my fisher paykel washer/dryer. i can't wait to sell this house--i will leave them here and get a new front load Duette for my next house!
Water leaking from the bottom usually indicates either a bad hose , bad hose connection to the pump or a leaking pump. Also sounds like the machine is not spinning out. Is there water left in the tub at the end of the cycle?
