Question about Vehicle Parts & Accessories

On my 2000 camaro ss clutch pedal is making clicking noise at the begining of pressing it in and at the end of when i release it.

The car is performing fine, the noise is just annoying and somewhat worrisome. Can it be my clutch master cylinder is going bad? Or maybe the system needs to be bled. Not too sure, it's just a symple clicking noise that just started.

I would have my clutch checked because it sounds like your clutch might be going out.

Do you feel this click when you push the pedal downwith your foot? Can you see if any wiring or anything is rubbing the arm connected to the pedal. SS camaro probably has a heavy duty clutch.Cheers Denny

Why is clutch pedal making a single clicking noise everytime it is released ?

The click you are hearing is most likely coming from the clutch safety switch, which prevents the car from starting unless the clutch is fully depressed. Some vehicles use a relay to activate/deactivate the safety feature when the clutch pedal is cycled.

So I just changed the clutch master cylinder and the braided brake line in my 2000 camaro ss and am trying to bleed the system. The routine I'm using is typical. Pump the pedal 30 times keep it depres

you have someone helping you right? cuz you cant do it yourself, and the brakes need to be pumped only enough to get a solid midway stop of pedal travel, and with the brake still depressed by your assistant, you open the bleeder a bit until the pedal goes to the floor, you tighten bleeder, they then release brake pedal and pump it up again, rinse, repeat, until there is no spongy feel in brake pedal

I'm trying to bleed my clutch in my 2000 camaro ss. I finally found the the bleeder screw at the top of the transmission on the drivers side. Just lookin for some guidance from here forward.

Adam: fill the slave cylinder resivour with fluid attach a bleeder hose to
the port have someone pump the clutch pedal u ntil fluid runs thru
without any air bubbles in it depending on the amount of air in the line
and NO other leaks this may take a few fills.

Clutch rattle

this sounds like an adjustment issue. you did not mention the mileage...The clutch is released by a bearing, this release bearing needs to come back off of the fingers of the clutch pressure place, early wear and noise happens.

Near the end of the clutch life, you may find that you cannot release any more, if your model is adjustable.

Start with proper clutch release adjustment.

Clutch pedal stays 2 the floor on a hydralic clutch system on a 2000 camaro v8. clutch master cylinder is new also slave cylinder and clutch and pressure plate

Did you bleed the system? When you replace the the master and/or slave cylinder you have to bleed the system just as you would with brakes. There is a bleed screw on the slave cylinder. Open the bleed screw, have a helper depress and hold the clutch pedal down.Tighten the bleed screw, then release clutch. Repeat this procedure until you have removed all air from the system and the clutch pedal is firm. Keep an eye on the fluid level to avoid sucking air into the system. If you have done this, remember there is a possibility that the master or slave cylinder is defective.

Clutch noise and stiffness

it sounds like your clutch release bearing has or is colapsing.when you press the clutch the release bearing is under the most load hence the noise.gearbox out i,m afraid. Can you still get gears ok ?.Also the pedal box,s are prone to break on polo,s ,the symptom for that is like a squashy pedal and hard to get gears.if you can look up at the top of the clutch pedal where the cable mounts see if the bracket the cable fits in to is broken away at the top.
