What does manufacturer control auxiliary input auxiliary output mean

set level of input and output for audio .. similar to line in and line out of a stereo amplifier. This means you cannot alter the level of the signal out put or input to your audio system. It is set by the manufacturer. For a 1996 Ciera I assume you are adding some type of interface so you can either input or output a signal for a device. It is probably a set level on the interface. Some interfaces have tiny knobs where you can control the gain for input or output orthers are set by the manufacturer of the interface.

Line in what is that for

In general:

Line In is the standard name for any generic audio input. Line Out would be for the corresponding output.

It allows a standard for audio equipment manufacturers to use when designing for interconnection.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_level

"Consumer electronic devices concerned with audio (for example Sound cards) often have a connector labeled "line in" and/or "line out". Line out provides an audio signal output and line in receives a signal input. The line in/out connections on a computer sound card are generally unbalanced, with a TRS connector of 6.35 mm (1/4"), 3.5 mm (1/8" miniature) or 2.5 mm (3/32" subminiature). The connections on most other consumer equipment use RCA jacks. In most cases changing the volume setting on the source equipment does not vary the strength of the line out signal."

Distorted recording and loud

If you're using the RCA cables, how is the switch set on the TT?

From the manual....

2. RCA Audio Output Cables: These cables should be plugged into a CD or Auxiliary input on your computer. IMPORTANT:
There is a switch on the bottom panel, next to the RCA cables that selects between PHONO/LINE. Use PHONO level for
plugging into a turntable input on a home stereo. Use the LINE level for plugging into CD/AUX/TAPE inputs. WARNING: You
may damage your receiver if you plug in a LINE level into a PHONO input.

Can i plug an amplifier into an active speaker

The active speaker consists of a crossover (for spliting the frequency full band) and as many amplifiers as speakers it has (e.g.if it's a 2 way loudspeaker - bass, treble - it has 2 mono amplifiers). You apply the line level signal at the crossover's input. So, as a conclusion:
1. You must apply only line level audio at the active speaker's input. This means that you can connect a line output from your mixer or your pre-amplifier, but not the output from another amplifier.
2. You can not use another amplifier for powering up your active speaker. The maximum sound level that this active speaker can provide is done by its own amplifiers. If this sound level is not enough for your case, you can either add some more speakers or use another one more powerfull.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Panasonic dvx1000a has no audio input, for xlr connector, the switch line mic is in mic pos. and the external mic not work in that camera.

You have to switch the CH1 and CH2 switches inside the lcd display to input 1 or input 2 to control the xlr inputs. If these switches are in int (L) and int(R) position, then you are adjusting the audio on the CH1 ad CH2 dials below the lcd viewer on the outside of the lcd for the on camera mic. Only use line setting on the front of the camera when you are receiving an audio feed at line level from an audio board. If you set the camera to mic setting, and you are receiving a line level audio signal, you will blow out the audio 0 way too loud, if you are receiving a mic signal and your switch is set to line, you will not be able to hear the mic with the audio Ch1 and ch2 all the way up.
