Hello, Don't worry. You can rely on this photo recovery software (also recover audio and video files); it can help you recover your lost pictures from your Samsung Digital Camera (or SD card):
Photo Recovery for Windows Users
http://www.uflysoft.com/photo-recovery-win/
Photo Recovery for Mac Users
http://www.uflysoft.com/photo-recovery-mac/
By the way: Before your pictures are retrieved, do not save more files to the device (or memory card) in case the original files (your pictures) are overwritten.
Best wishes!

Yes! It is possible for you to recover these deleted photos back easily from this camera as long as you've not overwritten them with anything new. So, take care not to take any new photo with this camera.
You can simply use a camera memory card data recovery freeware to recover all your wanted data back:
This freeware has ever successfully retrieved all the data of my friend off from his smart phone memory card. So, I believe it will work perfect on your camera memory card, too.
Note: Never be so careless to your important data and always remember to back up them all on different drives or storage devices.

Yes, it is possible to recover photos after reformat, if you have not recorded anything else/taken new photos in the same card.

All you need to do is download asoftech photo recovery software from the net
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Photo-Recovery/126127714100611?sk=info

Now follow the following steps:

1. Connect your Card to computer using a card reader or card slot on your computer.

2. Go to "My Computer".

3. Find out the drive assigned to the card at "My Computer" Menu (for example E:).

4. Specify the location where to save restored photos.

5. Click button "Start" to start analyzing disk to look for recoverable photos.

6. Wait for the analyzing process to complete. You can preview the recoverable photos' thumbnail.
PLEASE NOTE: The free version (trial) will only be analyzing disk for recoverable image and allow you to view recoverable file, full version is needed to recover file. If you see the thumbnails appearing, the photos can be recovered. You may buy the program after that.

7. Press "Recover" button to restore lost photos.

The photo recovery software is quite good to recover lost, deleted and formatted digital photos on removable media. Works with every type of digital card reader appearing as a drive letter in your local PC.

Hope this helps!

Dang, sorry I didn't see this post sooner. It's usually no problem at all to get them back. Please see this post for several free software that you can download. You'll need to use a card reader with these programs though: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

Recovering deleted photos

Hi,

If these photos were formatted from a memory card and not from the internal memory of the camera, there is a reasonable chance of recovering them.

Please have a look at this FixYa Tip which outlines the possible solutions.

Thanks.

How to retrieve pictures

Possibly depending on the type of format that you did. Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos (or else you may start overwriting some of them), take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

I have a ixus 700. I was trying to make more space for pics and I went to format and checked "low level format" and clicked ok. Afterwards I couldn't find my pics. Were they saved somewhere or did i lose...

Normally I'd be optimistic, except that you selected the worst case of low-level format. You can try the following freeware programs, but recommend starting with PC Inspector Smart Recovery, and let it run all night in intensive recovery mode:

Try PC Inspector "Smart Recovery" from the following listing. Select "Intensive" mode from the File/Settings menu. The program may need to run all night in this mode. If this doesn't recover the photos, am afraid then that they're permanently gone.

Format CF card

In general it is pretty hard to recover photos on a compact flash card once it has been erased and overwritten. You can just erase and take pictures over it many timesand this will pretty much take care of the problem.

You can also use an external card reader and load videos, pictures, data, etc. several times and this should make recovering your previous photos almost impossible.

You can try another option which does what the 1st two suggestions did (except it is automated) and use a commercial software program. Here is one such program. http://www.photorescue.net/downloadcardwiper.htm
