I cannnot get my Mother's old Singer Stylinst 416 sewing machince's bobbin to turn. What am I doing wrong?

Your mechanical machine could probably benefit from a professional service. Sounds like it has seized due to old oil that has dried. I've successfully used the following method to resurrect some older seized machines. In addition, the machine may have been knocked out of time when the needle broke. This can be corrected during general service or you can search for "sewing machine timing."

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

Hi ive just retimed my machine but now the bobbin thread isnt been picked up x i have a singer HD 4423 xx

That is generally a timing issue. The needle is arriving at the bobbin at the wrong time to intercept the bobbin thread. Be sure you are using a brand new needle.

How to remove the bobbin case on singer 4411 sewing machine. Thread is accumulated under the bobbin case and the case is sin wrong position.

Hai, I think your machine time is changing. So you can't remove the bobbin case. Please go to mechanic shop. First time you look and see. Next time you can try.

Possible causes: (in order of likelihood)
1. Needle inserted wrong (backwards or not in all the way)
2. Bobbin inserted wrong (thread unwinds in wrong direction)
3. Wrong bobbin type (wrong class or size)
4. Macine timing if off and needs adjustment

I just bought a singer 8160 and whenever I try to locks up and won't even sew one stitch....I've doubled check how I threaded my needle along with the bobbin....tension on both are good....what...

I had this same problem on my singer 317 and after all the frustration I found out that I had not installed the needle with the flat to the back of the machine. The other thing that comes to mind if this was a used machine it could be that the timing needs adjustment. Give singer a call on the phone and they will tell you how to adjust the timing for your model.

Turned the hand wheel the wrong way (clockwise) and I threw off the timing of the machine. How can I re align the machine? It's a Singer Simple 3116 18 stitch.

I think that all you have to do is put a new 80/12 needle in,that is what they set the timing with, and clean your machine thoroughly, take out your bobbin and brush the area. I do not think that it is your timing from turning your wheel the wrong way,

My Singer 7442 seems like the timing is wrong. when the need comes down in any position except far right is stop when it hits the bobbin case.

make sure needle isn't bent, if that's ok timing is out. Timing is a very precise ordeal, do you have a tech near by or would you like to send out

We gaurantee timing for 2yrs, shipping is not on us but still cheaper
