I advise you to jam the blade against a piece of wood to jam the blade for removal, remember that the bolt holding your blade on is reverse threaded and self tightening so don`t over tighten.
I always use this on the job-sight for it is easer than fumbeling for the lock button with gloves on

Sabre saw- craftsman - 17256 - change blades

This saw uses a tool-free blade change. 1. Unplug the jigsaw 2. Place your finger on the lower edge of the see through blade guard, and pull it forward until it locks up in place 3. Lift the tool-free blade change holder (bright yellow piece above the blade), and insert the blade into the slot of the tool-free blade change holder. 4. Release the tool-free blade change holder to lock the blade in place. 5. Pull down on the blade to verify that the blade is securely locked in place. The teeth of the blade should be pointing forward and down. 5. Put the blade guard back down.
You can use with both 'T' & 'U' shanked blades.
Feel free to ask me any other questions about this saw.

How do I change the blade on a dewalt compound (12 in) miter saw?

With the saw unplugged - The blade needs to be locked in place so it will not turn when you put a wrench on the nut located on the left side of the blade that holds the blade on. This is done with a locking pin on the right side of the blade. Push the pin in and rotate the blade by hand until the pin locks into the blade and prevents it from moving. With the pin pushed in put a wrench on the large nut on the left side of the blade and turn it. This may be reversed threaded, so you may have to turn the nut clockwise in order to loosen it. When tightening the nut after replacing the blade, you will have to once again lock the blade with the same pin.
Perhaps this video will help you locate the locking pin.

There is not a lock on this saw. If the blade is to tight to hold by hand you need to use an impact wrench. It will loosen the nut before the blade has time to start spinning.

I do not know how to install blade and have no manual

Most of the skil jigsaws have a plastic piece with a spring and catch behind it. Just push your blade into the tool and it should lock. When you want to remove it you need to press the plastic lock collar up and it will release the blade. Some of the earlier models weren't as easy to set the blade in and you have to press the lock collar up insert the blade and let the collar down around the blade to lock it.

How does one remove a broken blade from a Bosch rs20 blade holder

twist the collar around where the blade fits in the saw. It will lock in the open position. When you insert the new blade, do so firmly until the collar releases locking the new blade in place. Give a tug at the blade to make sure it is locked in.
