I use a TLP 2844 Zebra Printer, and i just cant get it to print. Each time i send a test print, the red light automatically comes on. I've tried the Dumb test to reset it to the manufacturer's...

You have to proceed with the callibration.
It's in the manual.
I think it's as follows.
Switch on the printer while pressing on the feed button.
Wait until the led stays red stable and release the button.
The printer will advance the labels and if everything is correct it will feed one label and the led will turn green.
Now your printer is ready for use with this label

How do you make a copy of something?

Place the document you want copied into the feed tray on top of the printer. Push the "Copy' button on the front panel (next to Scan and Photo).
If it's a black and white document (text), push the Start Copy button labelled as Black If it's a color document, push the Start Copy button labelled as color.
Hope this helps! If it did, feel free to rate me. Thanks for using FixYa.

Our Zebra 140XiIII+ slows down after 50 labels printing

I suspect your printer is heating up too much. To compensate it is likely slowing itself down automatically allowing itself to cool.

I found the user's manual here. Under the troubleshooting section it lists an entry regarding printing speed. It looks they suggest setting the print speed to the slowest setting for your application.

You can run a FEED Self Test to determine what speed meets your quality needs. To do this, press and hold the Feed button while turning the printer on. Release the Feed button when the first control panel light turns off. Looking at the printed label, determine what speed meets your needs. The manual suggests testing any barcodes with a scanner to verify they are OK.

Having the same problem here... very random... send a print job of labels and it will print the whole lot, or freeze at random points but always halfway through a label... no error message... unplug usb and replug doesnt do anything, but unplug and replug power and off it goes printing more lables but may even freeze again after only a few more have come out... also, every day the first print job of the day prints half the label and pauses for about 10 seconds then keeps going...

Hi can you help ? My zebra TLP 2824 printer keeps printing out of alignment. I reset the printer by holding the feed button while powering on but instead of printing dump info the label moves for a while...

If you are using a ribbon remove it and perform a calibration, hold down feed key for 2 seconds as you power on, release key and wait for it to complete its calibration, when it has stopped shifting labels (wait for 10 secs to be sure) HIT THE FEED KEY to exit dump mode. If it has successfully calibrated it will feed a label each time you hit feed key. Re-install ribbon, make sure ribbon is pushed formly onto drive sprockets and then re-run the calibration..

If this does not fix problem. download firmware to latest version. This will automatically reset printer to factory default condition.

I can't get my zebra lp 2844 to work. what do i do?

First thing you need to check power is coming to printer or not.
If power is coming check printer is feeding properly or not when you press feed button it should feed one blank label.
If it does not feed label then calibrate printer from driver or press feed button and switch on printer hold feed button for 2-3 seconds and leave it .It will calibrate and print test page.

Printer won't print...there was a paper jam and it was cleared

Most of the Lexmark printers (including the Z- and X- series) pull the paper down on one side slightly faster than the other. The printer hardware should even this out when printing. You should also ensure the paper meets the automatic feeder requirements of the printer.

If printing is skewed, feeding multiple pages or jamming, please follow these instructions (use a regular letter size paper to test after doing the steps given below):

Please check to ensure there is nothing obstructing the paper feed mechanism down inside the printer where it is not easily seen. If there is nothing obvious, unplug the printer and remove the paper. Open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a conveyor belt with rubber teeth on it, like a fan belt. Take the bottom part of that belt and move it gently to the left. The cartridges should come out with it. Make sure the cartridges can move fully from one side of the printer to the other. Check also the output rollers on the bottom of the printer for any blockage. If it is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. Turn the printer off. Next take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the paper feed slot (The manual paper feed slot is preferred, but the automatic feed will do if there is no manual paper feed for this printer) until it comes completely through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. Move it up and down and slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate this may work it loose or you may have to feed the envelope through the front rollers and push your way backward (please be careful here).

Next, take a damp warm cloth and clean the rubber rollers in the automatic sheet feeder. Dust may be coating the rollers there and as they become less tacky, they cannot feed paper correctly.
Then plug the printer back up, take your paper out and replace it with a fresh, small stack (about 5 pages) of paper. Quickly bend the stack in an 'S' shape a few times to separate pages. Make sure it is lined up on the right side of the paper feed and the paper guide on the left is snug on the left side of the paper. Then try to form feed again. If that works, then try to print the self test page.

Please follow the steps given below to perform the self-test:

1. Press the "Copy" button once.
2. Press the "Options" button 11 times until the screen reads "Maintenance."
3. Press the "Left Arrow(-)" button until the screen reads "Maintenance: Self Test."
4. Press "Select."

The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.
If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

Just tell me how to reset printer into factory settings. I have tried it by LPT1 connection and commands sent from command prompt, but doesn't help. The problem is that printer after print request...

To reset the printer.
1) Turn printer off.
2) Hold down feed button whilst turning printer on.
3) Let go of the feed button as soon as it starts to flash and then wait.
4) Printer will measure out 4 labels then print out a Hex dump ending with a not to "Push Feed to Exit"
5) Push feed

Follow the above instructions, if you mess around tapping the feed button (not following the above) you can change the printer between line mode and page mode. To swap that back is another storey.

TLP2848Z blinking red, will not print

1: Is it a TLP2844 or a TLP2844Z.

Operationally they are completely different printers. TLP2844 uses ELP (Eltron Programming Language. but TLP2844Z uses ZPL (Zebra Programming Language). You need to calibrate the printer to the labels.

Calibration:
If its a TLP2844. Load media. Connect power.
Hold down feed key, power on, count one, two, release feed key. The printer will go through a calibtation routine and print config label. IMPORTANT - When it prints this label you must press the feed key and see the message OUT OF DUMP. Your printer will now be calibrated. Check this by hitting the feed key a few times and printer will feed one label each time feed is hit.

Calibration:
If its a TLP2844z.

Load media. Turn printer on and wait for green light (Approx 1 minute)
Press feed key and keep it pressed until green light blinks once, then twice, now release feed key.
