Keeps freezing way too cold. does not register temp till unplugged and plugged back in. does not care about the temp. put new control board in to no avail. saw small low voltage wire tapped to copper part right next to the aluminum coils inside freezer. It goes to nothing. where is the thermostat located? I can't find it.

it sound like your unit has a bad sensor on it or a leak. you should never have to add refrigerant to a unit unless theres a leak then it has to be repaired firdt the recharged.

Yes that is the correct part number.
If a new cold control does not correct the problem. Replace the compressor start relay.
