Problem attaching a CCd camera to laptops

Hi,
I m valay my dad a doctor is going to buy a laptop but he is saying that if a CCD camera can be attatched to it then only he ll buy.... And for the time being i don't know how to attatch it to the laptops or which feature ll i need in it.....
Please help me out of it i ll be very thankfull to you....

- But my ccd camera contain an ordinary video output cable. So how to convert it into a usb port.... Is there any port which can convert it

- I recently updated from a 10 year old Compac to a 2007 Dell. The connections that came with the AGFA 780 worked fine with Windows 98 and the old connection cables.... Can it be converted to USB? Does it need a driver of some kind?- Mandolinda

Usually all cameras & peripherals connect to a laptop using USB or a Firewire port. Almost all new laptops carry USB ports, some have firewire too. Otherwise USB can be converted into firewire using a convertor.

Just check the connectivity of your CCD camera and take a decision accordingly.

You can buy a converter to USB from electronics parts supply stores. The same stores also sell cheap webcams
