Question about Husqvarna Riding Lawn Mower Yth24v48ls 48 Inch Cut

1 Answer

Husqvarna YTH22V46 22 HP V-Twin starts stalling after its hot. Pull the choke out helps a little but must push it right back in. Changed the fuel filter and seem to be better for a few cuts and then started doing the same thing. starts about 3/4 hour into cut.

SOURCE: my husqvarna GTH2448T has to be choked to run

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes.

SOURCE: spitting and sputtering

mine did the same, I found out that the high speed jet was clogged, I pulled the fuel line off the filtor(going to the carb), stuck the line into a mixture of half gas half carb cleaner, I fanned it up and in 2 or 3 minutes it started running well, hope this helps.

Check to see if you left the blades engaged. There is a safety switch that prevents starting with blades engaged. Easy to miss, happened to a friend of mine last month.

If this really helpful, please rate.

My Husqvarna 2148 stalls when it's under a load or

What exactly are you calling under load? Is it when you turn on the mower deck, or when you go into high grass? I'll assume it is when you enter higher grass. Loss of power can be a number of things from the governor not being properly set, a bad spark plug (should have been your first thing to look at), insufficient fuel (dirty fuel filter, gas cap not venting, dirt in the carburetor from a deteriorating fuel line). You could also have a bad head gasket, or a valve not seating. Head gasket is easy to see if it is bad by looking around the head gasket area for black deposits of carbon or oil. Valve issues are common if you have a lot of grass buildup under the engine cover, which restricts air from cooling the cylinder area. If you give me a little more information as to when it is stalling (does it start right back up?), and the conditions, I can give better direction as to what to do.

Dont wont to start to much fuel in cilinder

Never pull the starter more than 3-4 times under full choke. Pull 3-4 times on choke, push in to half choke and pull, should start.

1. Make sure you have used the correct fuel to oil mix in the tank.
2. Set on/off switch to ON position.
3. Pull out the choke switch to (full choke position)
4. Prime the carb by pumping the primer bulb on the carb until fuel fills the bulb.

Have 22HP BS V-Twin in a 2010 Husqvarna rider w/25 total hours. Recently won't cold start without priminig. It will crank and crank cold til the battery runs down. A shot of starting fluid and it runs...

nearly all petrol mower engines need to have the 'choke' engaged to start from cold. This enriches the fuel mixture, and is similar to priming. If there is a prime 'button' then you will probably have to use this all the time. This is normal.

However, you should check with your dealer to see if this is an unusual situation.

Your carburetor needs cleaned. It is dirty/has debris in it. If it has a bowl that is. If it has a diaphram (carburetor mounted on the fuel tank), replace the diaphram. They go bad.

I hope this helps get you going.

I had the same problem with mine. I talked to briggs help line and that was useless and also talked to 6 other repair shops. Seems to be a dirty little secret they are keeping about the defective carbs they use. Only way to fix it is to get the redesigned carb they have out now. They changed the fuel bowl and solenoid assembly. Carb kits did me no good.

Can't restart my new husqvarna 450 chain saw after a little bit of time using it. i followed the instruction manual both times.

The manual may not be clear, read warm line 3 below, read it again. The 450 manual I read says something similar under warm start. Are you opening the choke after turning on the ignition? Before pulling the starter rope? Flooding is the most common hard start problem with 2-cycle engines. If you are opening the choke I recommend you contact Husqvarna for guidance. They will likely send you to a neighborhood dealer, gratis.

Start Procedure
Cold:

  1. Ignition on/off to on.
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release.
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4).
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release.
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull).
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on.
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release.
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) – Do not pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull).

Check your rockers inside valve covers. They some time work loose. If they are loose the push rod will fall off rocker and cause the problem.

Saw stops when i give it gas.

  • plugged fuel filter
  • cracked/loose fuel line allowing air (instead of fuel) into the carburetor.
