Question about Singer Quantum XL-6000 Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

On the last step of the design, the carriage resets and is now off by 1/8 inch. I tried resending the entire design and skipping to the end but it did the same thing. Any suggestions on how to manually move the carriage and then finish the design.

From my experience, I just have to quit the design, close & exit from the program, switch off the machine as well as the computer.
Disconnect the embroidery unit & connect back ensure is properly
intake.Manually push the carriage to the left/right several times. Then manually push the hoop up/down the carriage, stop there, ensure USB is well connected at both end, switch back machine n computer & try work on a simple design first, if OK then redo the earlier design. If similar problem occur it is the design problem itself. Hope this can help.

Brother embroidery machine has started shifting design outline between first colour and others, about 1/2 inch can't back up to correct starting point, doesn't respond.

Did it do this on more than one pattern? Has it stitched this pattern before correctly ? You can try turning the machine off and back on and let it reset. If it is only doing it with this pattern and it's the first time you have stitched it , try again after turning the machine off and back on. If it's not doing it to other patterns and you bought the pattern contact who you bought it from as there is a flaw in the design. Have them check and resend it. I have a converter program so if you get it in a different format you can change it to your format. Sometimes it is designed on a different machine and did not convert well. When I have this problem I download it in .hus and convert it for brother. There are several free preview programs that show you the design and stitch order and let you save it to different formats. If this isn't the problem I would call brother USA +1-877-276-8437

I have a white speed lock 234 serger and cannot get it to chain off. The thread bunches together

Yes, thread the upper looper first, the lower looper next.

***Make sure that you have the presser foot RAISED during the ENTIRE threading process until you get to the point of threading the needles.

The second to last step in the lower looper process is to make sure lower looper thread DRAPES over the top of the upper looper & thread, then both thread tails get pulled under the presser foot and toward the back of the machine.

Give each thread a little extra tug as it goes through the tension disk to make sure it is seated. Verify that all the threading steps have been followed. Any skipped steps, extra thread wraps, or incorrect threading will most likely cause a problem.

Make sure you have brand new needles before threading. If one is bent or damaged, you will probably have issues with skipped stitches.

Set all the tensions to the midway point (the factory standard for regular chain stitch). The tensions can then be tweaked when the machine is correctly creating a chain.

If the machine messes up, breaks a thread, comes unthreaded, etc., save yourself some time and frustration and RETHREAD everything from the beginning. Trying to rethread out of order usually fails!!!

Once you are more comfortable with your machine, you can try fishing a thread, but even experienced serger users still have trouble with this.

The carriage on my babylock EMP6 is clicking and will not align.

Sounds like your carriage gears are slipping as though there is something blocking the carriage from moving. Could be the carriage is not seating properly.

Design will not complete resets to start

You did not mention what brand of machine you have. If it is a singer 150-350 turn off the machine and manually move the embroidery unit as far as it will go toward you and to the left, it must move about another 1/4 after it seems that it won't move any further. restart the machine and resend the embroidery design.

I bought the SINGER FUTURA XL400 in august. It sews, monograms an embroiders. Sews like a dream with no issues. The monogramming part has me at my wits end. It skips stiches, leaves big loops an looks bad...

Be sure to install a brand new sharp needle before sewing. Check that the needle, thread, and fabric are compatible. An embroidery needle or top stitch needle may help.

When threading the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot before threading to insure the thread seats in the tension disk.

How to thread the machine.

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Thread-a-Sewing-Machine/
check out this link.. it is described clearly with the help of images...

OR
try to do by reading these steps..

Step 1 Raise the needle to its highest position by turning the handwheel toward you.
Step 2 Raise the presser foot. This will allow the thread to easily pass through the threading points and will prevent the machine needle from becoming unthreaded when you begin to stitch.
Step 3 Place a spool of thread on the spool pin located at the top of your sewing machine. If the spool pin runs horizontally, secure the spool of thread with the cap provided.
Step 4 Take hold of the thread end and pass it through the designated threading points on the top of the machine casing, then down toward the tension assembly. The tension assembly is located on the left side of the machine and controls the flow of thread.
Step 5 Take the thread under the tension assembly and back up through the next threading point at the top left of the machine. Make sure the thread has passed between two tension discs as well as the hook that may be attached to the left side of the tension dial.
Step 6 Push the thread end through the lever at the top left of the machine, if applicable, and down through the threading points at bottom left and above the needle.
Step 7 Thread the needle from the front or back of the needle. The threading direction will depend on your machine type.
Step 8 Pull a few inches of thread through the eye of the needle and pull the thread to your left.
Step 9 Insert a wound bobbin into the machine, if necessary, and close the throat plate. A few inches of bobbin thread should be pulled out to the right and sticking out from under the closed throat plate.
Step 10 Take hold of the thread that has been threaded through the machine needle.
Step 11 Rotate the hand wheel toward you until the needle disappears into the bobbin case.
Step 12 Keep holding on to the thread and move the hand wheel so the needle is once again at its highest position. As the needle rises, a loop of bobbin thread will come up as well.
Step 13 Pull the thread out toward your left to draw the bobbin thread loop further out of the bobbin case.

Step 14
Let the top thread go and pull the bobbin thread up until the end comes up. Pull the top and bottom threads under the presser foot and to the back and right of the machine.

The zag part of zig zag won't work

i believe your machine is skipping the stitch on the RIGHT side as you sew and this is normally a timing problem. Lower your needle about 1/16 inch and try it . It might work to finish your project but it will need to be serviced to have the timing corrected.
