I think it should be in the door jam in the dash, if not, under the dash. some cars have it under the hood

I have a 2006 ford focus and my back door automatic lock wont lock. all the other locks engage but that one wont lock and i cant even manually engage it. any ideas

sounds like the fuse that controls that switch has burned out. check your fuse panel and refer to either the manual. or to the cove for fuse location info. good luck.

also note if the fuse blows again then the problem might be related to a bad switch or a short condition ion the wire.

begin by changing the fuse. look in your manual for the location of the fuse and be sure to replace it with a new one exactly like the old one, available at any auto parts store.

Brake lights

The first place to check is your fuses - it sounds like one of them is burnt out. The fuse panel location will be in your manual.

If you find it and replace it and your brake lights fail again you'll have to start looking for a short in the system somewhere...
