if you are planning on DIY it is real easy to damage the digitizer under the glass when trying to replace the glass. You can buy replacement glass but you need to heat up the glass to the point that the glue melts and the digitizer underneath does not burn. you have to lift the glass gently and bit by bit without putting pressure on the digitizer. suggest looking at Utube videos on how to replace glass on various mobile phones. If the digitizer is already damaged you have to replace the digitizer which is costly and involves pulling a mobile phone to pieces and re assembling it.
If it is just the edge of the corner glass not a lot you can do if it is broken nearer the inside be very careful as the weight of pans can cause the break to spread.Check serial no. on base of hob body the first 2 digits are the year and 3rd digit is weeks in year. For example 92800055 that would be 2009 and 28th week equals july 2009.Any AEG unit has 2years full warranty.Check and you might be able to claim new glass.Hope this helped.
There is a plastic cover over the LCD. Is only the cover broken? The plastic cover is easily replaceable.
But there is also a sheet of glas over the LCD. This is a part of the LCD assy and cannot be replaced without replacing the entire LCD.
