SOURCE: HP Laserjet 1320 Paper feed malfunction

Solution,

 take out the tray

if you look on the bottom of the machine there is a metal plate.

in the middle of the plate there is a bump

turn the tray upside down and look at the bottom, there is a small hole with a plastic lever. it is probably broken.

when the tray is slid into position the lever hits the bump and releases the lifting mechanism.

replace that part or the tray. I can get you a new tray e-mail me at

SOURCE: Cannot print odd-sized envelope with 4250 LJ

We are using standard size envelopes and the default used to be drawer one. Now if we have envelopes in the manual feed it wants to pull from there no matter what we select.

SOURCE: How do I install the envelope feeder tray on the

As long as you have the correct envelope feeder then it just locks into place on the front of the printer. Simply open the tray 1 feed door (the one with the model number 4050 on it) and your envelope feeder just "locks" in just above the open tray. If you look at the printer you will see a small square connector block. Now look at the envelope feeder and you will see where the 2 meet together. Then match up the 2 and "lock" it in place.

SOURCE: envelope jam HP Officejet 8500

Hi,

Try to print envelope through Microsoft Word

Steps:-

1) Click Tools , click Letters and Mailings and then click Envelopes and Labels .
2) Type the Delivery and Return address information.
3) Click Options .
4) On the Envelope Options tab, set the following options:-

  • Envelope size : set to match the loaded envelopes.
  • US only : if desired, select the Delivery point barcode to make it easier for mail sorting machinery to correctly route the envelope.
  • Return address : for Size 10 envelopes only, set the Return Address position .8 inch in the From left section.
5) Select the Printing Options tab and verify that the following settings are selected:
  • Select the Feed Method option that shows the envelope on the far right side with the short edge first.
  • Select Face down .
  • Examine the selected feed method image and verify that the envelope flap is on the left side of the envelope. If it is on the right, select or deselect Clockwise rotation.
6) Click OK and then click Print .

As envelop can not feed correctly every time, it depends on the weight, flap design, paper type and other factors & cause jam, To prevent those you can do.
  • Print envelopes at a higher quality setting so envelope is pulled through the unit more slowly. e.g:- Switch fast to slow mode or slow to best mode.
  • Tuck the flap inside the envelope before loading it into the printer.

Have a nice day...don't forget to rate the solution.

HP Laserjet 4200 with optional Envelope Feeder will not automatically pull #10 envelopes from Envelope Feeder?

Use a damp lint free cloth and clean the feeder rollers.
Print out a configuration page to make sure that the printer recognizes that the feeder is installed.
Usually the envelope feeder problems stem from age and/or dirty rollers.
Make sure that your software app sees that the feeder is attached.

Not sure how to feed the envlope into the printer

Follow these steps to use the photo/envelope feeder for single envelopes:
1. Insert the envelope into the photo/envelope feeder with the side to be printed on

facing down and the flap to the left.
Push the envelope into the printer as far as it will go without bending.
3. Slide the photo/envelope feeder forward as far as it will go.

My printer willnot print envelopes. It states paper size or type is incorrect. On all sizes.

Some printers have an extra feeder under a door on the front or side which allows you to insert an envelope. These types usually will not rcognize an envelope when inserted into the sheet feeders.

If you are using Microsoft Word, you may be able to do it from the "Tools"/"Envelopes & Labels" tab, but you more likely need to find the envelope feeder on your printer, if it exists.

Good luck !!

Cannot print odd-sized envelope with 4250 LJ

I got to HP tech support, and they tell me that the envelope feeder is intended only for a few standard envelope sizes. If we're trying to use a different sized envelope, as in this case, it must be fed manually, and the feeder bin will not work. So that answers that. Thanks for the help, though.

Attach envelope printer & tips for using

On the 4039 model the manual paper feeder fits on the back of the printer. There are two arms that fit into the back of the printer and it just sort of rests there. It takes a little bit of trying to get it right if you've never done it before, but a little patience and you'll get it. If you have a newer lexmark than a 4039 the feeder attaches to the front on top of the lower door. Hope that helps.
