Question about Singer 1507
Hi, how can I lower the teeth / feed dogs on a singer 1507
Had a quick look at the manual for this at www.singer.com and I'd say your machine doesn't have the function to lower the feed dogs, many don't. It shows a darning plate which goes over the feed dogs to sew on buttons so if you are wanting to do free motion embroidery or similar, then use this plate to cover up the feed dogs.

On your Singer, you don't actually raise / lower the feed dog. Instead you attach a "darning plate" (which should have come with the machine) which covers the feed dogs so they do not come in contact with the fabric. See a page from the owner's manual using this link within my web site: http://www.sewvac1.com/Singer3080_Feed_Drop.pdf

The model 513 Singer has two gears which operate the feeding mechanism. If one of these gears is broken, the machine will run except the feed dogs will not move. This is a very common problem with this model.
