Check a safety device called thermopile which the two wires connected to the unit needs to be around 500mV to open gas. This part is between 35-50$ If that is not the problem, you may need to replace unit gas valve.

If you are getting gas on but the burner won't come on its probably best to replace the whole pilot assembly. If you go to the website below then you can see the installation manual for your insert. It depends if you have LP or NG on the part you would need. http://literature.mhsc.com/majestic/manuals/83D0524_30ILDV_8.pdf
If you have gas already flowing then a gas valve 10:1 would not be replaced more than likely. You can contact Majestic directly at 1-(800) 867-0454 and find out who your local dealer is whom can diagnose and service this insert would be.
I work for a fireplace distributor that has been in the business for over 35 years and Majestic is one of the brands we have access to. Just taking out the thermopile may or may not solve the problem. If you get the whole pilot assembly it is considerably easier to replace than just a thermopile.
You can also go to http://majesticproducts.com/ and find a dealer who can service your insert. Just replacing parts without having a multimeter and monometer and knowing what voltages and water columns you should be at is exactly like having the check engine light come on your car and not taking it to a mechanic to get the diagnostic check. You can rip out all the O2 sensors in your car and the light might still be on. Then after spending $700 on parts you finally take it into the mechanic for a diagnostic check, whom has the right tools and OBD reader to diagnose the problem correctly, you find it its the gas cap your kicking yourself in the rear.
Always find a dealer that can service the manufacturer's product in your area. Hope this helps.

My majestic fireplace lights and the burner lights and I turn on the switch and the burner stays lit for a minute or two then I hear a click and the burner and pilot light shut off

yes this would appear to me to be the classic symptoms of a bad thermistor , this little device proves that fire has lit (via heat) and keeps gas valve open , otherwise gas valve times out and shuts off (safety)

I am sorry, but there is insufficient information to give a proper answer. If it is a vented logset, is it in a vented indoor firebox/fireplace or an outdoor fireplace?

Majestic gas fireplace mmodel majestic fireplace 36CDVXTRN will not stay lite after 20 minutes.

If you are able to , open the burner box , the igniter has a thermocouple ( might look like a thick wire that would be in the flame if it were on). If it gets corroded or junked up it will not register the flames presence and will shut off the gas). Take an emory cloth and polish it. Hope it helps.

Pilot light wont stay lit on gas logs

If the pilot lite comes on, but will not stay on after it has had enough time to heat the thermocouple, you got a bad or the wrong thermocouple. It does take some time to heat that thermocouple.

Napoleon Fireplace propane Pilot won't light main burner even though gas flows in?

  • I'm going to assume your fireplace has a pilot light.
  • Follow the little holes in the burner that lead to the pilot light.
  • Make sure the pilot flame is pointing directly at the closest burner hole. (adjust if necessary).
  • Often, you will need to sprinkle a layer of "glowing embers" in this area. The embers will help the gas travel to the pilot light and ignite.
  • Always start your propane appliance on "High" never "Low". Cold propane likes to drop to the bottom of the firebox and accumulate until it reaches the pilot (this is called delayed ignition). Keeping it on "high" will help the fuel travel over to the pilot without buildup.

I changed the thermo coupler and the pilot light does stay lit but the burners won't light

If you are referring to a gas fireplace:

  • Make sure the pilot knob is turned from "pilot" to "ON" or it will never run.
  • If the pilot knob is "ON", and the pilot is lit, but the burner won't light, it could be a bad Thermopile. The thermopile is the other safety mechanism in the pilot assembly that controls the burner.

I changed my thermocouple on my fireplace,it still wont stay lit

Thermocouple keeps the pilot lit.
Thermopile keeps the burner lit.
Please specify what won't stay lit...
If it's the burner, you may need to change the thermopile as well.
If the pilot still won't stay lit, you will want to make sure that the pilot flame is large enough to completely engulf the thermocouple and keep it hot. If it's too small, you may need to take some compressed air and blow out the pilot hood to remove any blockage.

Im calling for heat from the thermastat and control panel, the boiler light and and the fan is running, but no matter how many times i keep re trying the pilot and burner will not commence, is there...

I would check to make sure control on gas valve is in on position and pilot is lit if you have a standing pilot. If you have a spark or hot surface ignitor make sure they are trying to lit pilot. If you have standing pilot model and pilot lit is not on. Turn control on gas valve to off, wait five mins. then turn to pilot. Depress botton and try to light pilot. If it lights hold down for a couple of mins. then release.. If pilot stays lit turn control to on. If thermostat is calling for heat this should bring main burner on. If pilot does not stay lit then replace thermocouple. Hope this helps. Thanks

My Majestic DVR36RN gas-log fireplace insert will not start. No ignition when striker is depressed, no flame lit at all. Gas inlet line open, pilot switch to "pilot" as directed. Maybe...

Majestic DVR36RN: Here's what you need to do: Verify gas line is open. (You said you already have done that). Next turn the switch to pilot (you said you did that too). Make sure wall switch is on also. Now press and hold the pilot switch and hit the ignitor. Once it lights you need to continue to hold the pilot switch for roughly 1 minute. Release the knob and the flame should stay lighted. Now, turn the knob to on. You should be all set now.
