Re: as a modem

No, it only connects you to "bluetooth" devices (up to 7). You need a "modem" to connect to the Internet via phone line or cable TV or by an Air Card. Either hardwired or wireless. If the modem other than the Air card, supports "bluetooth" then your adapter will work. Go to any electronics store and just look on the modem packages (many to choose from) and they have nice pictures and diagrams on the back for you to follow and guide you on how you can connect. The sales people there can help you too.

I have a full signal on my pc via DIR-412 but no internet connection

Is this the first time you set your router? Make sure that the cable from your modem to your router is connected properly. You can also try connecting the modem directly into your PC just to make sure your modem is connected to the internet. If it is working without the router, reset your router then connect the modem again to your router.

Adsl wont stay on ,quick set up ,says cant find modem

Either the router is not connected properly to the modem, or the modem is not set up properly. First, unplug the router from the modem and disconnect power to both of them. Make sure the modem is connected to its data source, in this case the telephone line. Make sure the company has authorized the modem and make sure it's connected to the phone socket they specified, if they did. You should plug a CAT-5(ethernet) cable between the LAN port on the modem and the WAN port on the router. Now power on the modem. Wait until the modem's lights indicate it has a connection. If the modem doesn't indicate a connection, call your ISP. It will probably be as simple as them sending a refresh signal to it. After the modem finds a connection, power on the router. Your internet service should now be working. If not, try plugging the computer's network cable directly into the LAN port on the modem. If that computer then has internet, your problem is with the router. If the computer still doesn't have internet, then the problem is either with the settings on the computer or there's still a problem with the modem/ISP

Unable to connect to the internet using a linksys wireless adapter. Connects to the router but can't find the internet.

Isolate the issue by directly connecting the PC to the router via ethernet cable (if possible).

If you were able to get online while hardwired connected to the router, then check the IP address of the wireless network connection, check the wireless security if the network key matches.

If you cannot get online while hardwired to the router, then directly connect the computer to the modem.

If you were able to get online while directly connected to the modem, then the problem is the internet settings on the router. Check the WAN configuration, such as DHCP or PPPoE.

If you cannot get online when directly connected to the modem, then you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider.

Can I use a wireless router with motorola phone tools. What I want to do is to connect phone tools on a desktop and then add a wireless router (USB) so I can get wireless internet on my laptop.

Your question is somewhat confusing.

For clarification, there are two questions that you could be asking.

The first question would be: Can your phone be 'Tethered' to your laptop with either a Data Cable or Bluetooth to have internet on your laptop by using your phone as a modem? (No wireless router is needed to do this.)

The second question would be, that you have an internet connection on your desktop computer and want to use a wireless router to have internet on your laptop via WiFi. (In this case, your cell phone would not be needed.)

If the first question is what you are asking, to use your cell phone as a modem to provide internet access to your laptop - then the answer is, Yes. This is what you will need:

1) You'll need a Data Plan added to your regular cell phone service account.

2) To tether your laptop to your phone, your laptop will need to have either Bluetooth installed or you will need a USB Data cable.

Tip: If your laptop does not have Bluetooth installed, you can purchase any USB Bluetooth Doggle (on eBay for a couple of dollars) and plug it into one of the USB ports on your computer. Once plugged in, the doggle will automatically download the Bluetooth drivers to your laptop. Otherwise, you can use a USB Data cable to tether your phone to your laptop.

Note: Depending on the model number of your Motorola phone you may have to download the Data Cable Drivers onto your laptop.

If your phone is not one of the following phones then you can use Motorola Phone Tools. (Motorola OS, Motorola Linux OS, Motorola iDEN, Motorola Symbian/UIQ, Motorola Windows Mobile and Motorola i-mode Handsets. )

If you need the Motorola Phone tools (if your Motorola Phone Model was NOT one of the models I listed above)
Just click here::

If your phone model is a (Motorola OS, Motorola Linux OS, Motorola iDEN, Motorola Symbian/UIQ, Motorola Windows Mobile or Motorola i-mode Handsets), you'll need to download the drivers for the Data Cable and install them on your laptop.
Since you did not include which cellular provider you use, I cannot provide you with the information to manually set up your cellular internet connection.

Now, if the second question is the one you are asking, that you have internet on your desktop and want to use a wireless router to get internet on your laptop, here's what you'll need:

1) Connect a wireless router to your desktop.
2) Your laptop should have a small WiFi switch or button on the front or side of your laptop. This will need to be turned 'ON". (See your owners manual for your laptop to do this.)

If your laptop has WiFi installed, on your laptop go to START > (Look on the right side of the menu box and click on: 'Connect to' -- If you don't see, 'Connect to' in the menu you'll have to purchase a USB WiFi adapter. A good one is a D-Link DWL-G132 and can be purchased on eBay for about $10. Install the drivers for it first before plugging it in to your computer.
Click here to download the DWL-G132 drivers:

Once you download the drivers and plug in the DWL-G132 into one of your laptop's USB ports then click, START > Connect to > and select your wireless router.

Belkin G+ adapter connects to G+ MIMO Modem router,No Internet?

This sounds like your modem is storing the MAC address. There are 2 things you can try. 1 try unplugging the modem for about 5 mins and then plug it back in. If your modem has a battery backup you will need to also pull the battery out for those 5 mins.
Option 2 - Contact your internet provider and have them do a reset on the modem so that it will allow a new MAC address to be stored in the modem.

What has happened is that the proxy server on your last internet connection is in need of being redetected. you will need to delete any old cookies and internet files, also check in the internet explorer tools>internet options>connection, that the the the last provider you used is trying to connect instead of sky, so either select never dial a connection or sky as your default connection. Also check that in the properties of the belkin adapter that obtain an ip address automatically is checked in the TCP/IP properties. You may also need to refresh your browser a few times before you get on the net. A good temp file and reg cleaner, is Ccleaner, it's free and available at the link below
