Question about Giddy Up Rocking Horse

Open Question

I have Todays Kids white rocking horse. Ordered new rubber bands for it; however, I can't figure out how to take the old bands off. I took the cap & screw off so was able to remove the back end of the band, but can't figure out how to replace the front end as the frame front & side pieces seem to slide together (no screws) but I can't pull the pieces apart - I'm afraid to hammer on them as I don't want to break them. Help?

SOURCE: I have a today's kids rocking horse with rubber

Okay, we just replaced the bands and this is what we found. Work on them diagonally, i.e. replace right front then left back and so on. To remove the yellow caps you need to move the red plastic stirrup so you can uncover the screw. When you remove the screw it allows the yellow cap to come off. Do the same on the back bands by turning the red piece. Hope this helps. God Bless!

Are rocking horses safe to buy as toys?

Rocking horses have a bit of a reputation for being dangerous because of a few accidents involving the reins around the rocking horse. You do really have to be careful not to leave young children unattended.
And you can shorten the reins on the horse so that there's no danger of strangulation.
when kids go too fast on a rocking horse they can cause it to tip over but this is true of nearly all motion type toys.
i still think the rocking horse is a classic but you should be careful to supervise kids who are using it.

I have a Task Force 10" band saw, model # 90181.

for the tires, I asked in another forum and this is what I found:
fortyfinge user_offline.gif Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: USA Posts: 2 reputation_pos.gif way easier, way cheaper masking tape. Just plain white masking tape. About 8-10 wraps around the circumference of your wheel. I tried this about 15 years ago as a stop gap method while waiting for the new rubber ones I'd ordered to arrive. The new rubber was a pain to install and only lasted a couple of years under daily use.
I've been back to the tape for ten years. quote.gif

Silly problem with sanding band

Make sure to loosen the screw on the end of the mandrel. After removing the old sanding drum, gently roll the black rubber between your fingers to compress it slightly. The new sanding drum should slide right on and then tighten the screw.
