Question about Sony VPL-CX6 Multimedia Projector

2 Answers

VPL-CX6 PROBLEM I own 2 VPL-CX6 that worked perfectlly last friday. After the weekend and with some electrical storms in the area none of both starts. No lights. No noise. The power line cable has the 230V. So I suppose that this modell has some kind of electrical protection inside (fuse, thermal swith, circuit breaker, etc) Before to open the equipment I'd like to know your opini?n. Thanks, Luis

Vpl-cs2 Projector boots up and displays "S-Video" as the input. It will not let me change the input. In fact none of the buttons on the machine (or remote) seem to do anything. The projector...

remove all input signal connections.
Cover with a cardboard box to keep stray flourescent light off the IR sensors.
see if it starts up as before.

Sony VPL-ES1 projector

Hi Max

Is there any power on the unit at all ?

i.e. Does the LED's on the unit indicate that it is in stanby ?

If it isn't then it could just be a fuse that has gone on your Powersupply.

Blue "Haze" at top of screen

My VPL-HS51 just started doing the same thing. There's a lot of similar reports out there and they all end up at the same bottom line - the problem is due to a design defect in the 'prism block' (LCD panel) and the only option, other than to throw it away or sell it for parts, is to pay Sony about $2300.00 to fix it. Good luck!
