Vulcan freeloader 260 suddenly turns off after heating to temperature. Control unit was just replaced but still doing the same. I was told by another person it is the thermo couple but the fitter said

The thermocouple makes sense, if it does not send enough electricity to the control unit it will shut off. The thermocouple was probably moved when a new control unit was installed. Check to be sure the pilot flame touches the thermocouple, if not realign it else replace it.

My shower only stays hot for a minute and then goes cold even though the hot water works everywhere else. I have a hot and cold tap and a third one to direct to shower or tub.

I would take a look at the stem replacement task. Maybe something is clogging the hot water flow, perhaps a damaged washer or debris

Hi I am renting a house with a Vulcan freeloader 260 outside boiler. We keep finding that we do not have any hot water, we turned the thermostat dial up and this seamed to fix the problem for a few...

The unit may be undersized for the amount of water you are drawing off. The freeloader is a storage system. As you draw water off, it fills with cold water. On a 260 its not unusual to use at least half that on a long shower, or if someone else ahs the hot tap going. It takes around 30 minutes to reheat the misplaced water up again...

I have a vulcan freeloader 260 gas, how do i make sure it has water in the tank

The old freeloader is feed by cold at the bottom and the hot feed comes out the top. Basically if you are getting hot water out the hot tap (or any water out the hot tap) it has water in it. If you have any concerns post a new fault, I will keep a look out for it. These are great heaters, well worth looking after.

Vulcan 300 Freeloader Gas Water Heater

I assume it has a pilot. Try blowing out the pilot area with compressed air or CO2. Then relight the pilot.

Dust can cover the pilot combustion air inlet and cause it to pull away from the safety generator or thermocouple. Its called an oxygen depletion arrangement on some space heaters. I assume your Domestic Water Heater has this setup as well. Even if not the thermocouple is not getting all then heat from the flame. If this doesn't work get back to me here. We'll try 1 more thing.

If this helps you please grade me accordingly. GOOD LUCK
