Presser foot pressure dial changes on husqvarna 230 sewing mach

My wife sets the presser foot pressure on her viking husqvarna 230 electronic sewing machine but the dial changes position whenever she raises the presser foot lever. When the presser foot is lowered she has to reset the presser foot pressure. Shouldn't the dial stay put when the presser foot lever is raised?

SOURCE: Presser foot lever stuck

You lever doesn't work because the presser foot Bar is seized from lack of use.Open the side of the machine to access the bar. Put a mixture of water and ammonia ( about 80%water 20% ammonia) on the top and bottom of the bar. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes then try to move the presser foot Up by lifting the foot with a screw driver. Do not pry so hard you break something. It should get progressively easy the more times you do this. Put some sewing machine oil on the top and bottom of the shaft and it should be good to go.

SOURCE: Presser foot wont raise and lower

Does the presser foot move at all when the machine is first turned on?
Do the needle and feed teeth calibrate when the machine is first turned on?
You probably need to locate your nearest authorized repair center.

SOURCE: When I attach the embroidery arm and turn on the

My moms does the same. One way we got around it was to hold the presser foot all the way up and click the ok button on the screen. The other thing we did would be to hold the presser foot up all the way while turning the machine on while the embroidery unit was already attached. When I say raise the presser foot all the way up, I am talking about raising it up as if you were placing something really large under the foot, not just in the resting up position. Hope this helps - it is very frustrating! My sister has the same exact machine purchased at the same time as my moms, but she doesn't have this problem.

SOURCE: presser foot lever does not lift presser foot

It could be that yours is frozen like mine was. I followed the directions for resetting the screw, but it still wouldn't go. I had to sand off the rust and tap the end with a hammer! Now it goes up and down just fine! I have a Singer 9005, but like the techie said, they are all a lot a like in this part.

Can the feed dogs be adjusted up or down on a husqvarna viking quilter

They are adjustable but should be done by a sewing machine technician. Special tools are needed to get the setting right.

If the feed dogs are not pulling the fabric through the machine, check the presser foot pressure adjustment. It tightens the pressure on a spring on the presser foot bar causing the presser foot to apply more or less pressure to the fabric. The pressure adjustment can be located several places but usually around the head of the machine--to the left of the needle or at the very top of the head. Some older machines simply have a screw that is located under the top lid.

How to set bottom and top thread center of material

Hello
It sounds like you are trying to balance the top and bobbin thread so it locks perfectly. If so, this is accomplished by balancing the thread "tension". If you see loops on the underside of the fabric, tighten (increase) the tension. If loops for on the top, lower the tension.

If the fabric is puckering: reduce the stitch length AND you may need to use a finer needle along with finer thread in the bobbin and on top.

Presser foot pressure is rarely adjusted, unless sewing with extremely variable fabrics. For example, pressure is lowered when sewing with silk chiffon as it transports easily under the presser foot (and to prevent damage to the fragile fabric). Whereas pressure is increased when sewing with tent canvass to allow the feed dogs to be able to 'grip' and move the fabric.

How to adjust pressure foot pressure on husqvarn viking disginer 1 sewing maching

I'm confused by your question, which mentions two machines. The presser foot pressure on a Tacsew T111-155 is adjusted by turning the knob on the left side, top of the machine that is directly over the needle. The Designer 1 mostly sets its own presser foot pressure, but it can be increased or decreased by following the procedure on p. 13 of the manual: http://new.husqvarnaviking.com/SiteMedia/Products/Machines/Support/Designer_I_manual_EN.pdf

How do I move the presser foot on a Husqvarna Viking Emerald 116 sewing machine?

Not sure what exactly you need to know. Are you trying to lift the presser foot or change the presser foot to another one? If it is lifting, there will be a lever of some kind behind the machine. On one of my Husqvarna machines it was a big flat "paddle" shaped lever, not sure what shape it is on the Emerald machines. Lift the lever from the bottom upwards and outwards. Most Husqvarna machines have clip on-and-off feet. You just gently pull forwards on the foot (while the presser foot is raised) to remove it, then push the new one on making sure the small bar part of the presser foot goes into the clip on the presser foot ankle.

Ordinary straight stitching

When you turn on a #1 Husqvarna Viking the machine defaults all the electronic settings to do a straight stitch at a 2.5mm stitch length, that equates to approximately 10 stitches per inch. The top tension dial sets itself automatically and the only other dial is on the left side of the machine. That dial sets the pressure on the foot that holds down the fabric. It's normal setting is 6.
