Hi.

In order to use the Function keys, download and install the two Applications mentioned below:

1) Sony Shared Library:

http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/SOASSL-10133900-US.EXE

2) Sony Notebook Utilities:

http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/SOOOTH-41300000-XP.EXE

Once you have downloaded both the Applications, install them and restart the Computer for the settings to take effect.

Once you have restarted the Computer, you should be able to use the Function Keys.

Hope this helps.

I have sony vaio but the av mode is not working and i have VGN-CS215J

Hi.
According to the information online, the issue might be due to the VAIO Launcher Application.
The VAIO Launcher Application is responsible for the functionality of the AV Mode keys.
Hence, it would be better to re-install the VAIO Launcher Application.
It is also recommended to install the Sony Shared Library before installing the VAIO Launcher Application.
I have mentioned all the links from which you can download the Sony Shared Library and the VAIO Launcher Application:
Sony Shared Library:

VAIO Launcher Application:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCS215JW&upd_id=4403&os_id=34
Please click on the above links to download the Sony Shared Library and the VAIO Launcher Application.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to contact for further information and assistance.

Sony VAIO VGN-CR320E Motion eye camera never

Hi,

First, you need to try re-installing the Camera Driver and Applications to fix the issue.

Click this link to download the Camera Driver for the Computer.

Please download the file to a folder in the Computer. Then, please open the folder where the file is download and double click on it to begin the installation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to continue the installation process. After installing the Driver, please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.

If the issue still persists, please try re-installing the Camera Application in the Computer.

You can download the Camera Application from this link

Please download and install the Camera Application in the Computer. Please make sure that you restart the Computer after each installation for the settings to take the effect. Re-installing the Camera Driver and Camera Application should fix it.

If this did not fix the issue, please open the Device Manager. (to open the Device Manager, press the Windows Logo + R Keys together, this will open the Run window, in the Run window, please type DEVMGMT.MSC and press the Enter Key. On the Device Manager window, please check if the "Imaging Devices" is listed. If listed, please try re-installing the Camera Application again. If the Imaging Devices category is missing even after re-installing the Driver, you may need to restore the computer to the factory defaults to check if it is hardware related.

Please post a reply when you are done with the above steps,

Best of luck...!!

Windows is resuming message

XP repair
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

You can try this first before the XP repair :
Chkdsk
Take the Windows XP disk. Boot from it, then DO NOT select F2 (automated system recovery) but continue through the procedure until you get to the point where you can choose between installing Windows XP and entering the Recovery Console. Once you get into the Recovery Console, do chkdsk and fix potential errors on your disks! Chkdsk C: /R

Problem in installing linux

Hi...
Linux is different from Win XP, you'll take a lot of time to study and make adjustment to its environment and its applications. Also passwords on Linux is case sensitive. You can download Win XP if, it is not illegal in your place, have it burned on a CD to be used for the installation... Good Luck! Hope this helps... happy Fixya! Keep us posted if you need more help.

About windows setup

Hi niket_shah, sorry but you're board Asus M2N-MX, does support Win XP SP2.
Chances are that while installing windows updates one or more updates failed. People like myself know from repairing PC's which updates need to be installed first. If you're Win XP SP2 did not or would not install than either the Win CD is not a valid Microsoft Win XP SP2 CD or (You have a copy) & there is something wrong with the CD. After a fresh (New install) of Win XP with SP2 there is more than 90+ updates for SP2 which must be downloaded through windows update program. Or you're windows will not function properly.
Just to show you what versions of windows the M2N-MX board does support. Click the link listed below. Once the link loads click the + sign next to Audio. Scroll down the page an notice the different Window version listed for you're board.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=M2N-MX&SLanguage=en-us
To recap this issue. The problem is either the WinCD or possibly you're hard drive. Make sure you allow windows to perform a full format before installing window. (Not a quick format).
