Go to your printer/print settings/preferences adjust your print options there. set your dry time to less. ink usage to less and /or change your print quality to fast normal or draft. in printerpreferences select spool to printer first.

Dell optiplex 740 supposed to be compatible with my hp psc 1110 prints very slow, how can speed it up?

Buy a better printer. This printer is only designed to print up to 10 black pages per minute and 8 color. It won't exceed that.

Here are the specs for your printer

Your printer only can print up to 8.2 black pages per minute and only up to 6 color pages per minute. I think you just bought a really slow printer.

HP 1310 series

I have an HP PSC1315 which is virtually the same printer. I actually created my own template where 10 business cards are printed as if it were one sheet of paper(like a poster). Of course you you can't select how many cards print, or which card to start on, but at least I get 10 perfectly centered cards.
