I've been having a lot of trouble with my computer(Compaq Presario 5152). In 2004 it got infected with spyware and though I got software to remove the spyware the computer has not worked right since. It is extremely slow sometimes. When I have multiple window activated or shutting down the computer, I'd get a message saying it's busy or unresponsive, so I would have to unplug the computer to clear it. I'm thinking about putting the start up disk in the computer that would wipe the hard drive clean and put the computer back to the way it was when I bought it. This would be the second time I've done this. I did this in 04 after the spyware infection. Would this be ok to try?
Yes, If you have no problem losing your data. If you care about your data I would install a good antivirus program if you are not using one . If you are using one make sure it is updated and perform a full system scan. Also if you have the newst version of Internet Explorer clear out your temporary internet files & cookies.

I'm building a desktop from scratch. The new motherboard came with a faceplate that has little fingers around some the holes. Do those need to be taken off or just bent out of the way?

I work with hand drawn illustrations that I scan as bitmaps and would like to change theminto vector based illustrations to colour them in using either illustrator or photoshop. Open paths are a problem while colouring in the illustrations so how would I close open paths on these vectors?

HP Compaq 5311SR Desktop with XP. I changed the power supply but am unsure on which connector attaches on the bottom front. I am looking for some kind of chart to verify which number connectors go where. P3, P2, P4, etc.
