Question about Konica Minolta Magicolor 2450 Printer
I recently had Windows XP clean installed on my computer because I had been having problems. Now my Konica Minolta Magicolor 2450 printer will not recognize the connection to my computer. I can actually print documents on the printer itself, like its menus, and other information about itself, but it will not print anything I send to it from my computer through the print command. I reinstalled the driver from the disk, but that doesn't seem to help at all. I can't get the test pages to print from my computer. It is connected to the LPT1. I am at my wits end. The "manual" that accompanied my printer is NO help at figuring out this problem, neither are the "trouble shooting" helps that are available on my computer, like printing from the prompt.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Open the top cover. Remove the drum (part with long green handle). Below the drum you will see a strip of glass about 4-5 inches long. Take a cloth and wipe across the glass.
This will normally clear up any white lines in your print.

SOURCE: Only prints on computer restart!
Have you tried a different port?
This will identify if it is a USB issue, possible USB 1 or 2.
It sounds like an issue with your port and not the printer, do you have access to advanced settings on your computer for USB?

I've had that problem before too, and found out that there were copies of the printer that had somehow installed themselves on my computer. All I needed to do was to choose to print with "konica minolta copy 1" instead of the one that I *thought* was installed and it worked. I then deleted the original printer and just stuck with the copy.

Did you buy a whole new drum unit, or just change the cartridge? If so, the fuse may still be blown. Also, you may need to empty the spent toner out of the old cartridge.
