I'm surprised to see your reply this quick and i'm very glad for that. I ddin't really understand what does this line meant!!! "You should
see a key related to your function key, generally a different color
then the rest, labeled (F, Fun, FN, etc...)" Can you be more specific?

Try using the function key for your display options

You should see a key related to your function key, generally a different color then the rest, labeled (F, Fun, FN, etc...) then look for a CRT/LCD, or LCD, or a symbol of a rounded square, or something resembling a monitor or screen.

Hold Fn and press that button, give it a few seconds. It should switch.

You can also hold a flash light up to the screen and see if there's any image, if this is the case then parts need to be replaced.

Laptops generally have a key called a Function Key. This key is used similarly to that of a calculator, or a mode key on a remote control. The Function Key allows certain keys to perform additional functions. The closest explaination to the Function Key for a computer is operating the shift key and hitting another key, with a subscript function.

You should see along the top row of keys, your F Keys or somewhere along the sides of your keyboard, a different, or subset font or symbol usually in a different color. That color coorisponds to the color of the function key.

    To use an alternative function:
Press and Hold the "Fn" Key while pressing a desired mode key.

Yours should be blue and located between the left Ctrl and Alt Keys.

Your LCD/Display key should be located at F8, but it is different on all models as the possibilities where previously listed.

    Hope this helped.

The tray on DVD won't open when pressing OPEN button DVD/CD is inside

Often the tray is powered by a rubber belt. If the latter breaks or slips the try will not open/close. The motor will work and tell the electronics that all is well because it has done its job but it really hasn't since the tray is inert!

The pd-f1007 301 disc player was working fine yesterday, and this morning i turned it on,, and the display didn't come on, and the tray just keeps spinning very slowly, any ideas

You may need to take the backing off of the player to check if any cds might have jamed in the actual cd player. i have one similar to this that jams because of one cd that is a little bit larger then the other.

I have the White Screen of Death

Try pressing the reset button underneath the antenna and if this doesn't help, then you'll need to have the LCD display replaced.

Pictures are black

My 4300 works fine until this week. No picture display on the LCD screen. Settings like date, exposure, etc.. are fine on the LCD screen. Able to get into setup mode and the colour menu selection box is fine. This shows that the LCD screen is working fine. Prior to this happening, I notice that when I took pictures in zoom mode, the picture turn out to be orange. I suspect this is caused by electronic failure. Light entering the lens cannot be transmitted to the LCD screen. Some photoelectronic stuff had reached its MTBF (mean time between failure)? Is there a way to save this camera?
