Question about Zebra Eltron P330i Card Printer

P330i ribbon breaks on solid blue background

I have two printers. On one more than the other - ribbon breaks between the yellow and magenta when printing solid blue background.

Keep getting Out of Ribbon message even i changed ribbon..printer zebra p330i card printer. how can i fix it?


I assume you are using YMCKO ribbon rather that K monochrome. If using YMCKO (or a few other specialist ribbons) the spool has a large blue collar at the back with a paper covered chip. The chip has to be for the P330i rather that the Javelin or Polaroid version of the printer. The code on the YMCKO ribbon should be 800015-440. There are a number of companies selling cheap knocked off ribbons that claim to be compatible. That could be part of the problem. The printer has to communicate back to the windows driver when a ribbon is changed, maybe there is a comms problem, try another USB port or reload the driver.

Keep getting broken ribbon message on zebra P330i printer


Hello, assuming the supplies are Zebra and there is no discernible damage to the ribbon, it could mean that the ribbon sensor on the printer is broken. if your printer is still under warranty you can ship back to Zebra (Illinois) to get it repaired. The zebra website has info on how to return printers for service. Hope this helps.

DataCard printer ribbon breaks


First, what color is it breaking on? Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black, Topcoat?

Next, I would do is clean all the rollers in the printer with isoprophyl alcohol (99% if you can find it, 91% is ok, 75% is you're in a bind). This is a common problem

Then, load the Printer Diagnostics from your print driver CD. In diagnostics, you can set the BASE POWER for YMC, K or Topcoat. The base power is totally different from intensity. As the printhead gets old, you may need to back off the intensity to keep the ribbon from breaking.

Lastly, take a look at the ribbon:
Is the image placed in the same spot of the ribbon on each panel or does it move (creep) higher or lower? This creeping action is caused by many things and would be best to be serviced by a technician.

Card cutting ribbon on Zebra P330i


On the front of the head. 4 screws are there.
Near the head where the ribbon contacts the card.
Loosen the top 2. Let the metal guard slide down a bit. Tighten the screws. Try a card.
Keep adjusting the guard until you tune it right.

C88 / T060 cartridge refilling problem


sounds lke your yellow nozzle not working properly...had same issue on lexmark printer, ended up geting this epson...learnt from my mistakes...perhaps it ran dry? or you left the yellow cartridge out longer than the rest....only you might know what happened
