Question about Refrigerators
I have a Kelvinator 380 and just had an expert come out. He told me the solinoid was burnt out and they are no longer available. Freezer wors but he doesn't defrost. The fridge itself is not cooling. You you know of a solution or do I throw this great old fridge away? Les.
Hi, if the defrost module isn't functioning, this can be the issue concerning the failed defrosting issue.
Concerning the cooling issue, this normally is caused by a failed compressor unit or a blown evaporator/condenser fan. you may need to recharge the compressor as well if the compressor isn't running in a constant cycle. I could help in a more efficient manner if you would please relay the complete model number if possible.
And, i would like to know what solenoid this tech was referring to as well.
