We need to find out why it's not going into defrost. For now unplug open freeze back and expose the evaporator coils. Defrost with hair dryer or bucket of hot water sitting inside freezer. And get back with me. We will go from there, Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Your refrigerator does have a Control-Defrost adaptive timer, PC Board part number 241736601 on the inside of the fresh food compartment inside the control panel. We need to look at the freezer element and defrost thermostat first. Let me know later what you find, Sea Breeze

The condenser fan motor at the back near the compressor is either dirty or not running at proper speeds. Clean the coils for air flow over compressor and if the fan is not running replace the fan.

Fridge motor on too much it seems

Remember, the colder you make the thermostat, the longer the compressor will run to try and reach the required temperature. Question is," is the temperature in the fridge cold enough or not cold enough." If it is, then you will need to have the thermostat replaced.(there is no control). If not cold enough at any time, then there is an issue with the cooling circuit.(Will then need to have it checked by a technician.

HI,

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

thanks,

Kenmore side by side refrigerator not cooling

Check inside back wall of the freezer for frost buildup. It would be a sign that the defrost system is not working and the coil inside the back wall is frozen over stopping air circulation to the refrigerator.
Defrost system has a timer that energizes a heater and a defrost termination switch which shuts off the heaters when the coil is warm enough for all ice to be melted. If you have the frost, locate the defrost timer and turn the clutch head screw clockwise SLOWLY until you hear one audible click, the compressor will shut off and the system will be in defrost. After 18-22 minutes the refrigerator should restart automatically. If it does not restart after 25 Minutes turn the timer screw again to the second click. Refrigerator will then start. Replace the timer.

If it restarts after the 18-22 minutes and does not defrost ether the heater or defrost thermostat is bad.
