Hi rinster_26,

changing the ice dispenser, checking the pump at the bottom-back of the refrigerator - both should work.Check the water in the pipes going up the refrigerator.

Please check the water pipe as it leads to the under the kitchen sink .It should be tapped in to the sing water line with an under sing spike. It has a turn stile on it that acts as a valve. It is most likelyshaped like a small metal sliver or spike. This should be open to allowwater to fill the line.

Some models do have a motor that helps circulate the water. If itlooses its prime or gets an airlock in the line, the water will notcirculate. This is because it is a low pressure pump.
Does your model have a water filter. The filter sometimes needs tobe changed because it gets clogged occassionally, depending on yourhardness of water.
ALSO does your model have a coil of tubing in the lower right hand of the refrigerator that is designed to keep water cold?
This can also become kinked, have an airlock or develope ice.

Do you have the owners manual for your refrigerator?

Let me paste one for whirlpool. More likely, the working is same for most of the refrigerators.

http://www.whirlpool.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use and Care Guide - XXXXXXX.pdf
If this does not work when you click on it, simple copy it and paste it into the address bar.
There is a washer valve on the ice maker, however you said youreplaced the ice maker. This makes me believe something else may bewrong. I belive you do have a filter on the ice maker on the freezerside. However you will need to check out this manual thourghly to seewhat you might discover.
it is difficult to diagnose what is wrong here without being able to work directly with the refrigerator.
The trouble shooting guide mentions all the things I have already mentioned to you.
These manuals are ment to be for multiple models, so do not worrythat all the accessoreies represnted in this manual does not match yourmachine precisely. The X refers to anoption that your machine does not have. So do not worry, the icemakerstill operates the same.

Any further help, let me know.

John, i think the problem lies in the main circuit board of the machine. Based on the things you have said, it all comes down to the main board. If the main board is working properly, the lights must be reacting to the buttons once pushed. Try fixing this board.

Hi, are you getting any water flow and, is there any ice production at this point?

  • Anonymous Apr 23, 2009

If you are not getting any water flow and, the wall lines are working correctly, this will be an issue within the dual inlet water valve assembly. Replacing this dual water valve unit will fix this issue.

Jenn air french door water dispenser broken

You have two sides to your 67006531 Dual Water Inlet Valve, so it is very possible the side that controls the water flow for the dispenser is defective. Replace the 67006531 Dual Water Control Valve and I believe your fridge water will work fine.

I have a Jenn-Air refrigerator #JCD2389DES. The ice maker became stuck and kept delivering ice cubes even after dispenser was released. I finally opened the freezer door and got it stopped. Now it...

Yes it could be either, BUT I would go back and make sure that everything you did to stop it the first time is undone. Is everything setted correctly? Is the switches in the right place?

Neither the solenoid or the microswitch could cause the problem you had before, so I would suspect something is not right with the ice maker itself.

My jenn air freezer is not making cubes. the

The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Jenn-Air refrigerator is not making ice but it's dispensing water

It can take up to 24 hours for a new ice maker to make ice.  Check it tomorrow.

The ice maker and water dispenser does not work. There is no power to the exterior dispensing unit on the refrigerator.

I'm assuming you are saying there is no ice and water being dispensed, but that the ice maker is producing ice.

Actual ice maker operation is independent of the fountain which is for dispensing only.

The power is checked at the fountain board on wires Red/Black and White. The door must be closed when doing this check as power goes through the door switch. If no power is present, check the same wires at the connector under the upper door hinge cover.

The next check would be Red/Black to Blue while depressing the actuator pad button.

Outputs off the board are Pink to auger motor, Black to fountain water valve, other Black to fountain light, Violet to cube solenoid, the two brown wires go to the ice chute door solenoid.

The ice maker can be checked by removing the plastic cover up front. Check test points L to N for 120VAC. Short test points T and H to cycle the ice maker. Make sure it does not have ice or water in the mold already, or it will run over.

Of course last but not least, check water to the refrigerator. It is a dual valve and unlikely both solenoids could fail at the same time.

Jenn Air JCD2389GES ice dispenser problem

You could have a layer of solid ice at the bottom of your icetray. Remove icetray. Remove any ice in bottom. Reinstall. Be careful there is a connection on the rear of the icetray, you may have to turn it to get it to mesh correctly. Fill with ice and it should work fine. Good Luck.
