I have the same problem- and the welder cycles on and off at a steady rate. None of the controls have any effect except the heat range and it only changes the sound of the short circiut noise.

Have either one of you fellas gotten a solution to this problem. Just today, my machine, a Solar 2.175 Model 117-011 is doing the same thing. The Wire is HOT all the time, and the welder appears to be working ok, but I don't want to burn the darn thing up. A solenoid of sime kind maybe....?

    Any help would be appreciated

I found the solution to my problem. Willyboy695, My machine was working fine, but the wire was HOT all the time. Not a good scenario..and dangerous.

I contacted USAWeld on ebay. Jeff Nolan put me onto the problem, my RELAY, which is a solid state item, had gone bad. I replaced the relay, and the welder is up and running as it has for over 20 yrs. The relay, CRYDOM D2440 was replaced, and the unit on your machine may be a different number, but give this a try.

Jeff Nolan can be reached at:

I hope that helps.

I have a kende mig 105 gasless welder, but the wire isn't getting fed through on the feed wheel, tried different welding wire and also turned the wheel, tried tightening the wheel, slackening it as well,i

Here's a few things you can check:
When gun trigger is pulled, do the drive wheels turn? If they aren't, pull the trigger again; do you hear anything within the machine (contactors closing, gas solinouds opening, any clicking, etc.) that would indicate the trigger circuit is functional?
If the drive wheels are turning, but wire isn't being pushed thru the mig gun, check for proper drive roll vs. wire size. If that is correct, check gun liner for obstructions. Flux cored wire tends to stop up a wire liner fairly quickly.

My Solar MIG welder is not purging when I pull the trigger how do I fix

Check to make sure that your gas solenoid is opening when energized. It is possible that the coil is bad so the plunger will not move out of the closed position. If you are not familiar with how to do that please consult a technician since you will be dealing with live current in the machine.I am sure that you checked to make sure that your regulator flowmeter is not the culprit and that your shielding gas cylinder valve is turned all the way on.

Mig welder gas stays on all the time

The problem must be the solenoid valve. This one must be stuck and remains open always. Dirt or metal shavings can the reason.
Change the solenoid valve.

If your drive rolls need an extra pressure on them, that means you are using an oversize rolls, you did not mention what kind of wire is it (solid or fluxcore) probably your drive rolls are 035.
If youa re using fluxcore wire (no gas needed) the you should buy a knurled type roll that will cure the problem. Your machine is capable to weld up to 3/16" thickness using flux core wire or 10 gauge using solid wire-gas.

If this was useful to you please vote, thanks.

Have solar 110 2172 mig welder does this mig use gas can i use flux core wire also is owners manual available

Yiu can use both innershiel and solid core wire. All you need to do is inverse the polarity for the innershield wire (gasless wire) connect the gun to the ground and ground cable to positive side.

My mig welder is not getting gas from the welder to the nozzle.

Check you gun plug, this one has to go all the way inside the wire feed rolls, make sure the wire guide has the right direction (yes, you can put it backwards). Gaskets must be line up to the gas inlet. If everything looks good, then check that the solenoid valve clicks open everytime you press your trigger. Other problem can be an empty gas cylinder.

My mig welder will no longer push the wire through. I have removed the wire but the drive wheel will not even turn. When I pull the trigger I can hear the load click as it normally does but nothing...

If you presure off the drive rolls so that there is no wire between them and that there is space between each of the rolls and the rolls still do not turn and you hear the drive roll relay activate then I would say that the drive roll motor might of burned up, which is not uncommen for a mig welder. almost any dealer can get a replacement motor for the make and model of the welder you have or at least a dealer for that brand will get it for you. Hope this Helps Don
