Lines on screen

I have had my camera since March and take pictures on a daily basis. Today I went to take pictures and notices lines on the screen. When I review the pictures I took inside they look a little fuzzy. Pictures taken outside are extremely fuzzy and white in color. Any suggestions as to what this is?? or how to fix it??

I've only taken about 260 pictures on my camera, it's never been dropped or abused and one day lines appeared on my screen. Also, pictures taken outside seemed washed out. I've had the camera for 1 1/2 years so my warrenty is of course expired. I'm very dissappointed in this unit and will not buy another Kodak unit again.

I have had the Kodak Z612 for just over 2 years and have started to have lines appear on the display screen after taking photographs and the photo quality has gone altogether. All outside photos have gone white! Really disappointed to see that others have suffered the same fate!

Hi, I have the same problem with my sony DSC-S700. I think someone drop it, and it took pictures with horizontal line specially outdoor. I noticed that the lens shutter does'nt open and close. All I did was to tap on the lens several times and everythings back to normal. I so happy my camera is working again. Thanks to your idea. Brenton

I recently had the same problem with my z612 including horizontal lines on screen and very white images. I was able to fix the problem however it took 12 hours and a lot of frustration. The problem started when my 1 year old pulled the camera off the table onto hardwood floor. It had no apparent damage but took bad pictures. The problem was in the f-stop apeture and shutter. Both are made of small plastic flaps that open and close. A small disc with 6 slots rotates to move the 6 f-stop flaps. A solenoid actuates the 4 shutter flaps. If you shine a light into the lens and look in you will see that the shutter does not open/close properly or that the f-stop opening is no longer approx round. This happens when the plastic flaps fall out of position due to impact. This can be fixed but requires most of the camera to be disassembled to get to these delicate parts. It is very difficult to reassemble the lense assembly which includes the zoom lense, the image stabilizer, and the shutter assembly all of which ride on different cam tracks within two concentric plastic tubes. I do NOT recommend repairing this yourself unless you are crazy like me. Better off to buy a new one.

Panasonic ctp2780sf no picture faint line going vertical across screen

There are two reasons for this fault. A fault smoothing capacitor at the video output voltage rail, or excess of screen voltage. These lines are called 'vertical retrace lines' technically. Check this link for more details. It has a post, which have information regarding this fault. Go to older posts there.

Vertical color lines on display screen

If the lines appear while looking at the menu, then it's a broken LCD. If the lines appear only while taking pictures - faulty CCD. Contact your local Sony service center, but if they ask too much, you can contact me at and I will give you a good price.
I work in Sony service center.

Humming noise & lines in picture

There is a faulty capacitor somewhere in the unit sending wrong voltage. The system will have to be tested with volt-meter or capacitor tester to determine faulty capacitor

Cracked your LCD screen, the black lines are where it broke.

Red/White Lines On Photos and LCD

The scren is just displaying the input from the CCD (Digital Sensor that actually takes the picture).. If The pictures were fine, but the screen was funky if you could live with it then there wouldn't be a problem.

Since it's on both the screen AND on your photos it points to there being a fault with the CCD

Given the age of the camera, the cost of a repair I'm afraid it's time for a new camera. there's nothing you can do to fix this yourself.

Sorry for being the bearer of bad tidings.

Red lines

It seems that you have been selecting Panoram view to shoot photos. Go to menu and change the image options and select SHQ or whatever and not panorama. This should solve the problem. Panorama view shows the grid lines all over the screen and it is meant for taking 360 degree panoramic views.
