If one color is missing from the video, on all sources as well as the OSD, is is easy to determine if the problem is the Main Board or a defective LED/Driver. Enter the service menu and select CCA. Turn CCA OFF. Go to Sensor Status and select it. The bottom row of numbers indicates the LED Driver's current draw for each LED. Of one of the LED is drawing 0 current, either the LED or the driver is defective. Verify by swapping the LED connector from the suspected LED with a known good one. If all of the LED's are drawing good current, the problem is in the main board.

Hi..it is the DMD board (digital mirror display) but IF it can be repaired it would cost around $300.00 to repair and $970.00 to replace. I would tighten the screws that hold the mirror to the board first. All four of them. Sometimes if the screws are loose, you will get the vert. lines too.

SOURCE: Samsung DLP HL-S4266W White dot problem

Its the DLP IC chip itself that is bad. The DMD board is where the chip resides but if you order a board, it will come without the chip. Its not cheap and the replacement is tricky because the DMD board must be removed and then an alignment of picture centering will be necessary.

White death DLP TV

White dots on your RPTV television are the result of the DLP chip being worn out. You can replace it very easily by buying a new DLP chip for just under $190 and installing the new chip. There is a very good forum over at fixyourDLP that offers tutorials for replacing the DLP.

Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

Had one last week and now there are 6. they are

Hi,

You get white spots inside the samsung DLP tv due to bad Digital Micromiror Device , or bad DMD board .

What is actually the problem is the DMV chip connected to this board . Inside this chip are 3 million tiny mirrors ,and when they physically get stuck , they either show black or white instead of a color
This is well know problem with SAMSUNG DLP...

The DMD chip is failing. If not under warranty expect to pay a few hundred to several hundred to get it fixed

The mirrors on the DLP chip are slowly sticking either fully open (white) or fully closed (black). The part that contains the DLP chip is the Light Engine. It is the most expensive part of the TV.Only the Samsung TVs has this issue.

Replacing the DLP chip and the micro mirror would solve this issue...

Pleaserate this solution,
