Question about Kenmore 74602 Gas Dryer
Kenmore Large Capacity Gas Dryer Model 110.74602300 When my dryer has not been used for a while, it will start drying when first turned on. But soon afterwards, it will not heat. I have cleaned all duct work, verified the all temperature sensors are working. When the gas tries to turn on, the igniter glows and you can hear a vibrating noise (not buzzing) coming from the gas valve area. No gas comes on. I looked at the schematic and it indicates that the igniter should be 40 ohms. I unplugged mine and measured the igniter resistance and it was 100 ohm. (I have not measure coil resistance yet). Could this be the problem or could one of the coils be bad, even though they appear to work as least once when first turned on. Or is there something else wrong.
Tips for a great answer:
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
