Lights won't turn off - everything else works fine

Lightblub blew out and now lights will not turn off - even after replacing blown lightbulb. Only way to turn off lights is to now unplug the entire unit. Fan seems to work fine.

I have a NuTone Allure WS2 range hood. The fan works fine, so does the control board seem ok, but the lights work only intermittently. NuTone tech support said to replace the control board, which I suspect is its kneejerk response. The board costs almost $200--and for two lights???

My problem is similar to the one whose lights work, fan doesn't, but I have a feeling my problem is different.I hope simpler.

Thanks in advance for help (light) on the problem anyone can offer.

Power door locks won't work and the instrument pnnel lights won't turn on. I replaced blown fuse a 20mp one in position 14 I believe. worked ok till I tried to lock the doors, the fuse blew

Hello. Try looking at the black earth that goes from the drivers door and into the A frame which is covered in a rubber sheath. The wire can break after opening and shutting the door over several years and as it's normally the thicker wire is more prone to break. Also check the other wires visually for any chaffing and tugging on each wire. If more electrical parts start failing, air con blowers etc it will be an earth. Hope this helps

93 camry I was replacing a defected brakelight bulb and when I was removing it it made like a short and after that all 4 of the brake ligths don't work. Checked the fuse its fine every other lights work...

It is more than likely that when you heard and or saw the short it remained shorted thus taking down everything on that particular circuit. It should have blown the fuse but if in the past the fuse blew and replaced with a too high a current rating it would not blow the fuse. Go back to the original bulb location remove the bulb and try the brake lights again. If you are working alone, pound aut a weight on the brake pedle and remove the bulb, move the wires around and watch to see if at some point the other bulbs lights go on. You will then be able to more accuratly isolate the short location. Good luck

I found a paritally blown fuse. When the fuse blew metal pieces ended up partially making contact. After replacing the fuse everything worked great.
