Hi, Even if the hardware is physically attached/installed, the necessary software/drivers must likewise be installed in the Operating System of the laptop. Initially you can also verify that your laptop recognizes the sound card by verifying that is present and enabled in the CMOS/BIOS. If you are using a Windows based OS, you can verify that the appropriate drivers are installed in the Device Manager under the Sound, video and game controllers. If there is a Yello or Red mark on the multimedia or sound device, then you need to reinstall the software. The driver/software is normally available in the recovery/installation CD that came with the laptop. If it is not available, it may be downloaded from the Toshiba site/support/download/drivers. Drivers are OS specific. ou should specify what Windows or OS you are using. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

I have this same problem. You have two solutions. 1. change the o/s module that contains the modem, sound card, and internal wireless. 2. get a cheap or good pair of USB speakers and that will solve your sound issues. You can get USB headphone or USB speakers. Its not a software issue. Its a hardware issue with the module under the keyboard that holds the sound card. a connection is bad.

I have a nevidia gef 9100 and the computer freezes when my grandson plays lord of the rings is the graphics card not good enough?

Hi,

Try reinstalling the driver for the graphics card or update the driver installation. Also sometimes this happens when the cooling fan malfuntions and the graphics card gets overheated.

My pc doen't play a sound

Please check whether the device drivers for your Audio Hardware is installed or not. The process is
Start>Run>devmgmt.msc (type and click ok or press enter)
bb66b20.jpg Now find your audio device and check whether drivers for the same are installed or not...
43fcabd.jpg If the device shows mark of exclamation (!) or interrogation (?) beside it, please install drivers for it.
Try and pls reply.

Sound device

Hi,

If your sound device is removable, like PCI Card, try to remove the PCI Card and clean the connector with dry brush, then place it firmly back again.

If your sound device built-in on your motherboard, please re-install the Device driver provided by the Motherbard Driver CD.

Sound Drivers

you have to download the sound drivers and install the software..can't give you the exact driver as haven't specified much about your PC.
still try to download one of the common driver like realtek- Ac97... from the following URL ..
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

or try to download other audio drivers and install it...your problem would be fixed.

hope to get rated as fixed...

Sound card wont play root media files

Hi Hughdog
well, Biostar mobos are know for a lot issues, but depending too, on the OS, windows XP I presume, go on safe mode, and uninstall all audio drivers, and disable on the BIOS audio. then start the PC, and install the audio card. or if is a internal audio reenable again, redetec the drivers, and install them according to the CD and drivers. you should see the play device now and play music correctly.
good luck
