Question about Canon LV-5210 Multimedia Projector

2 Answers

I plug in the Cannon LV 5210 and the red light is on. Now I press on the red light and it turns green to turn on the projector. The light is green for about 10 seconds and then it goes back to the red light. It is in shut down mode when the fan comes on. Then it will stop and the I will try again and again and it still goes to shut down mode. What do you think is wrong with it? Thanks alot, Stan

There is a rely cercuit to the fan that is fouled up and needs to be replaced, Also you need to check the actual lamp for replacement to because when the relay goes so does the lamp inside of the unit. Lets hope its under buyer protection or a warrenty plan.

Hello Stan,

Kindly check the filters. To check the filters, please follow the steps below:

1. Turn the projector over and look for the long lines plastic on the side.
2. These plastic lines has doogerhitchies in their middle.
3. Pull them out using your fingernail.

Once you pulled the filters out, clean it in and out and make sure that the filters are dry before putting them back.

    Stan,

    Try to consider these things:

    – Check the projection lamp.

    1. Turn off the projector and disconnect the AC plug. Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.
    2. Loosen the screw with the screw driver, and remove the lamp cover.
    3. Make sure that the lamp is not loosen.
    4. Try to reset the lamp replace counter.

    – Unlock Key lock for the projector in the Setting Menu
    1. Use the remote control unit and press the unlock key button. This feature is used to prevent operation by a third person.

If all else failed, kindly contact Canon.

Why would my projector refuse to start with a seemingly intact light bulb?

If you only have 300 hours on it it should still be under warranty. Before doing something to void that I would check with Optoma techs.

Canon LV-S1 New bulb but won't power up

Have you cleaned the filters? In this situation, the fan and power shuts down even before the bulb lights up and heats up the unit, but perhaps the unit can detect clogged filters.

You can download the manual here if you don't have one. Instructions for cleaning the filters are on page 37.
