an f1 one code means that
Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Turn the Temperature Control Knob to
OFF, and disconnect the power to the range. Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power.
If fault recurs, disconnect the power and contact an authorized servicer.
You can get all the codes here in the manual.

SOURCE: Kenmore Gas range control panel error code ''8''

It appears your clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Sabb or Sab Explanation for Kitchen Ranges

Here is a useful tip in identifying a frequently reported problem on some model ranges and wall ovens equipped with an Electronic Range Control (ERC) or Electronic Oven Control (EOC). An “error” code display of “Sabb" or “Sab” will be displayed and the range or oven will not function. This is called “Sabbath Mode" and it may be costing you unnecessary charges in service call fees. This is NOT a problem, but actually a feature provided by some manufacturers to enable customers of certain religious faiths to honor the Sabbath. The range will not function at all during this period and cannot be reset by unplugging the unit or turning it off. In your owner/operator's manual there should be a section that refers to "Sabbath Mode" under the control panel features and operation. This "problem" is a minor operator issue and is not a malfunction of the appliance. This is commonly reported by customers to service companies to have corrected, but the repair is unnecessary, and usually NOT covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. The reason: It is a designed feature of the appliance and considered “operator error” in most cases. What this means is you may be paying someone big money to push a couple of buttons and “fix” something that could have taken you minutes to correct yourself. Sabbath Mode can inadvertently be activated by pressing the wrong sequence of control panel buttons, or following a power outage. The procedures for turning Sabbath Mode on/off are referenced in your owner operator manual under operating instructions. Manufacturers provide different procedures for activating and deactivating the mode, so instructions may differ. I hope this helps avoid the need for a service calls in the future and saves you money.

Sorry to read about your problem with the f14 code.
You have a keyboard issue.

1. Check/reseat ribbon harness connections between keyboard touch panel and EOC..
2. Test keyboard circuits using test matrix (below). Replace touch panel if defective.
3. If keyboard circuits check good replace EOC.

Frigidaire Range control panel DEAD

We tested the EOC and it will indeed need a replacement. Also, just a couple weeks prior we ran the "clean" mode on the oven as did another poster who experienced the "pop" and loss of the control board/oven function, but still had stove top function.

Bake element blew 2 weeks ago got new part...and still won't heat up

Depending on how the element blew, in some cases it will also ruin the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. This is your clock assembly. The EOC controls all the oven functions on electric ranges. There are separate relay controlled circuits on the board that control the BAKE and BROIL functions. The EOC will still display the time and the broiler may still work, but the bake feature will not. My bet, it the relay for the bake element, or a component in the bake circuit is blown. There should be a schematic diagram located inside the operator console, or on the back of the range for assistance in troubleshooting. I would recommend you inspect the EOC for any burned components or wires.

Now...there is a remote possibility you've purchased a bad element (it does happen). A resistance check from terminal to terminal should yield a high resistance in the K ohms range. Next, check the resistance between one terminal and the outer shield of the element. You should get an infinite reading. Anything else, you probably have an element that is shorted.

I hope this information is helpful to you in some way. If you have questions please let me know.

Whirlpool electric range model # RF261PXSQ oven not heating

I'm afraid you may have a blown Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. The EOC controls all the functions of the oven. The surface elements are controlled by individual infinite switches behind each control knob.. That's why the surface elements all work, but the oven does not. A replacement EOC can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and you will find it under the "Control Panel Parts" heading as item number 12. There are several listed, based upon the color you need (White, Biscuit, and Black). This is a very simple repair that any do-it-yourselfer can accomplish if you wish to perform this on your own. All you have to do is UNPLUG the appliance and remove the back panel of the console to access.

Before assuming the EOC is defective, however, inspect the board to see if it has a fuse on it. I do not have a wiring diagram to confirm. Some of these boards do have fuses and that's all that it may take to repair it. However, if the board shows signs of burned components, replace it. NOTE: Check for any loose connectors to the board as well.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have questions and/or require additional assistance.
