I need to rescan the channels but it is not an option under menu.
Hello, I recently purchased an Axion ANX-8701 7" LCD handheld TV. As I took the TV out of the box, it powered on and started that channel search. I didn't have time to set up the anntena so It didn't really get all of the channels. I need to rescan the channels but autoscanning is not an option under the menu items.

Re: I need to rescan the channels but it is not an option...
You will need to manual scan. you must put on the ariel as this gives you the pictures check the instructions. for searches, if you dont get any channels after tuning then take it back to where you got it,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
If you have a universal remote control, you can use its code search feature to try to find a code that works. If you search through allcodes stored in the remote without success, you may have to try another universal remote. Different remotes may have different codes.
OTA signal? Check your antenna orientation and if there are any tall objects that would interfere with the signal. (See antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for signal directions and distance to the station. antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative with station information.) Scan for channels with Menu > > (right arrow twice) up or down to AutoScan and hit enter. Use add channels to include stations with the antenna in a new direction.
If you are using the built-in antenna, you may not get digital signals. Try an external antenna (see above sites). Digital signals are enough or zero.
This TV doesn't have a cable tuner so a set top box would be needed for cable stations, check the box directions for the station you need to tune the TV to access the signal.
hello,, I suggest that you go into the menu find the auto scan or auto channel setup and allow the TV`s to auto setup, this will find valid channels and tune them in, this should solve you problem, also note, after a power failure you need to rescan or re tune, it will not remember your last setup good luck
Check that your antenna is sufficient for your location and oriented correctly. Try antennaweb.org for the most likely channels; tvfool.com has a much greater list of channels and the antennas needed to receive them. Both sites assume external antennas and warn that trees and buildings around your location may cause interference.
If you have a splitter connecting one antenna to several TVs, consider using an amplifier to ensure that the TV gets sufficient signal strength. Remember digital TV is has all-or-nothing reception issues.
If you previously could pick up the stations with this TV and suddenly lost them, try resetting your TV. Unplug the unit for at least 10 seconds. Also restore the factory default settings and then rescan for all channels. The reset is possibly Menu, Options, Restore Default or Menu, Setup, Memory Recall. (Viewsonic has changed its menus at intervals so look for something similar). Once you find it, click enter then left or right arrow to YES, hit enter again. Then hit menu twice to exit the OSD menu and then re-enter the menus before trying to rescan channels.
Also check that the TV is looking for OTA and not cable signals. Check that the tuner is still working by retrying the scan in a spot you know that the antenna captures a stations signal. Make sure your antenna cable hasn't been damaged by anything.
If you recently had a power surge (lightning strike) near the antenna or cable, you may be in need of a new tuner. (BTDT with an older TV)
I have on and if the batteries start getting weak the screen display brightness is the first to stop working. Double check that, if you are on AC power try sliding the brightness control from dim to bright a few times and see if the rheostat has corroded. Those are a few of the quick checks you can try, let me know. Jay
It sounds like you need to reset this device to original specs. This can be done by leaving it unplugger for 4 - 5 hours.
Then is this does not work you will have to contact the company and get aa schematic. At that point we can begin troubleshooting.
