I have 2 different subs in one box, a 12" MTX thunder and a 12" Kicker CVR. the kicker is a dual voice coil while the MTX I dont believe is. Can I use one amp for this set up? And how would it be wired?

im guessing both speakers are 4 ohms ..mtx 4ohms and kicker dual if your amp can go down to 1 ohm wiring the kicker dual coils in parallel (2ohms) and the mtx connected together (4ohms) should leave you with a final impedance between 1 and 2 ohms ...i suggest you use one or get another

I just bought a cvr kicker 10' sub, hooked it up in my car replaceing a polk audio sub. The kicker keeps blowing my fuse. i have checked the wireing. i have an 800watt sony xplode amp. Please help

i am assuming that you bought this sub used? their could be a problem with your voice coil. the voice coil moves the cone of the speaker in and out. the problem with the voice coil is that it has become lose and is doping the impedance of the sub. A lose voice coil can be cause by over powering the sub. this problem is not fix able.

How do i wire a kicker cvr if it has two reds and blacks

the sub is a dual voice coil, and depending on how you wire them, gives you different bass response as it drops the ohms in your amp. it can be wired for 2 ohms one way 4 ohms another way or 1 ohm depending on what ohm the coils are. to learn more about this got to rockford, click support, then click woofer wiring wizard, this will answer all your questions about dvc subs.

How to connect dual vouice coil to amp

Hey well your gonna need to give more info. is the sub dual 2ohm dual 4ohm. if you have a dual 2 ohm you wire one + to one- (like a jumper wire)and then your other +.- go to your amp as 4ohms, if you have a dual 4ohm model and your amp can handel 2ohm stereo then wire your +to+ to +on the amp and the same for your -. it will bring a 4ohms to 2 ohms by connecting pos. to pos. and neg. then to your amp.

I have an Audiobahn A8000T amp and 2 12" Kicker CVR (DVC) Dual voice Coil. The Subwoofers are 2OHM a peice. What is the best way to hook this all up to run a 2 OHM load to my subs?

This is a link to Kicker for your CVR12 Subs...if you have the 2 ohm version (2 ohms per voice coil) and you have 2 speakers will need to wire EACH speakers voice coils in series to get 4 ohms from each speaker and then wire the 2 speakers in in....2 ohms in series with 2 ohms = 4 ohms....both speakers wired same way, then in Parallel with each other = 2 ohm load. Page 2 of this link gives examples of both series and parallel wiring of your speaker.
If you are still not sure as to my description of ' How To',
PLEASE respond and I will attempt to explain it EXACTLY via wiring directions.

I have 2 12 in kicker cvr tryna drop to lower ohm

Use the above site for several wiring schematics on dual voice coil speaker hookups. It will show how to wire for different impedance.
Also, I think the CVR 12's come in 2 ohm and 4 ohm impedance. See if you can check yours to determine which you have....

How do you wire 4 kicker cvr dual voice coil 4ohms to a 1500.1 kicker mono block 1 channel amp, they sound distorted when i turn them up, how should i wire them?

Hello antjobe,

According to Kicker the 1500.1 is only stable to 2ohms. So you will want your 4 CVR's to present a 2ohm or higher impedance to the amp.

The best configuration would be to wire the voice coils in series (each sub 8ohms) and then parallel all of the subs to the amp (2ohms). Here's a link to the diagram.

Hope this helps.

How do i wire 10' kicker cvr

dual 2 or dual 4

dual 2 wire vc's in series for a 4 ohm load each. Hook each speaker seperate channels on the amp.

dual 4 wire vc in series for an 8 ohm load each. Hook both + to the right + on the amp and both - to the left - on the amp. or

dual 4 wire vc in parallel for a 2 ohm load each and hook each speaker to seperate channels on the amp.

How to wire kenwood amp to kicker cvr 12"

How you wire it depends on how hard you want drive your amp. If your woofer runs 4ohm per coil I would wile it in series (amp +to sub +1 sub -1to sub +2 amp - to sub -2) then run it for a week and see if it has enough power. the lower your Impedance (the resistance load on the amp) the harder your amp works and more THD (noise) is produced. (Dclass amps aren't know for being clean to begin with) configured like this your amp will see 8ohms and sound the clean east. if this turns out to be not enough power wire it in parallel and double the output. wire amp + to sub +1 and +2 then amp - to sub -1 and -2.

A word to the wise... start with your volume very low and work up slowly most speakers will puk up the voice coil before the amp starts to get warmed up. you would hate to have to buy a new sub.

Have fun
