LG 42PC5D Sound Lag

I've had my LG 42PC5D plasma tv for less than a week. I've noticed that the sound is about 1/4-1/2 second later than the picture. After I noticed this, I had 2 tvs on the same channel and it was much more pronounced. It is also doing it when I use my Sony surround sound. It makes an annoying echoing because the speakers are not timed right on the TV. I've tried changing all of the settings on the tv and even on my surround sound just to try to match it, but I've had no luck. What should I do? Should I send it back or have someone look at it?

Same problem - sound is out of sync causing an echo. It is almost as if it takes longer for the sound to be processed through the TV. I haven't tried the digital sound output - has anyone else?

I bought my LG 55LA6200 last year in August 2013. Around December I noticed a Small, dull, crosshatched/ fishnet pattern, about the sixe of a grapfruit all of a sudden appear. It seems to be very noticeable when extended bright scenes are displayed, regardless of content. And now, even when images are displayed within it for several seconds, it leaves ghosting or tracing of images or lines from sentences, like this one right now that I am typing. The dull, fishnet pattern has gotten bigger since December, it's now around the size of two basketballs. LG's manual did say that this could be a result of electrical interference, but I'm not so sure. I have Kplisch surround speakers sandwiched around the TV, but I thought that that couldn't possibly be the issue. Anbd I have my surround sound receiver just below it, with all sorts of other electronics. I have my entire home theater system plugged into the same power strip, but the TV plugged into it's own outlet, shared with a space heater. I bought this TV at a rent to own place, and not a retail store, so I imagine that I don't have any type of a warranty on it. Has anyone else had this problem? As I do not see, anywhere on the web, of anyone else coming remotely close to the issue I am having. Thank you.

I have the same issue. The audio seems to be okay through an antenna input, but not through an outside source input. There is about a 100ms audio lag, and the video is processed about 50ms faster than normal, making a total audio lag of about 150ms. To fight this I run any audio source through a separate receiver/stereo. The problem is now cut back down to the 50ms video lag difference. I am going to try putting video signals through the receiver too, maybe to induce some lag there and even things out even more.. Using the digital output does not help any (I've tried it), any audio is still processed by the tv and therefore slowed down.

Turn the volume on the TV all the way down. Its becasuse you have the sound come from both sources. its kinda fun to play with.

LG TV plasma 42pc5d-ab Turns on & detects remote input but no sound/picture

I've fixed a lot of those..Its usually a capacitor on the power supply main board..seen it on all brands of lcd tvs and monitors..You can open it up and the damaged capacitor will be crowned on the top or there will be a gel oosing out the bottom of it..very noticable.

LG plasma TV turned off, after the picture very light

I think you have a defective power board. the pop sound in coming from the board and giving you a low output voltage. do it yourself price about two hundred for parts.

42" LG Plasma tv, no picture - black screen, but have sound.

Most a likely a problem with your Y-Sustain board which will then not drive the screen giving a black picture. The fuse on the board may be open circuit & need replaced but most likely you will need to have the sustain board replaced.

I have a LG 42PC5D plasma TV and there's a sound delay on all channels. I'm using a HDMI cable from a Comcast DVR convertor directly to the TV. Is there a firmware update that's needed? If so, how do I...

firmware is mostly used by commercial TV´s, try using your TV with other device or an aerial antenna.
I believe the problem is your comcast DVR convertor.

I have sound but no picture on my LG 42PC5D-AB Plasma TV. I have checked the cables and they are all connected ok. turned on this morning and there was sound and no picture

If the display is totaly blank from turning the set on it sounds to me that the display is gone and all you can do is replace the display witch for a 42" set it woudl be cheaper to replace.

The suggested repair is correct - "won't happen again" is a pipe dream. Best you can do put a UPS on the TV, which addresses one situation.

Plasma screen color problems

Hi
I just bought a 42pc5d plasma tv it's an LG I bought it in Sept. 07 it started doing the exact same thing your talking about here the red glow type thing. Luckily for me and I hope in your case that the tv is under warranty, although if you know someone or even a repair place I don't think it would cost much to fix (just a guess but the guy told me that it was an easy fix so don't let them try to screw you). It really is a simple fix according to the tech. You need to adjust the voltage. He took the tv and watched it until he saw the red and adjusted the voltage and I had my tv back the next day. This was about a week ago and I haven't seen it since. I hope this helps and I hope you have a warranty. By the way LG comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty standard so if you didn't get an extended warranty from where you bought it if it's less than 2 years old call LG and they will arrange to have it fixed that's what I did. Here's the number 1-888-542-2623. Good luck.
