Re: ice maker is not working
If still in warranty, let them fix it. Check the manual for operating instructions for the ice maker. There is a lever that turns the ice maker off when the bin is full, it should be down for the unit to turn on.

HI THERE.ice maker not working has many reasons.but try these checks first1-stop /start leaver or switch.2-water in ice tray.if not fill manually first and try.if works once 3-check inlet valve or water supply.if all ok then is either the ice machine or pcb .good luck Ali
Yes you have to connect the water pipe from sink to refrigerator back.hen turn ON the water valve o run the water from fridge to freezer section.Form freezer section to water inlet valve at the back of ice maker. Then only ice maker and water dispenser will function.Other wise only freezer and fridge will work.-------------- If you dont have water tube and water valve then You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com
or from online sears part site. If you are not aware of how exactly to set and connect water valve and water tube then local plumber or fridge repair technician can do it for you.Its not at all hard job and can be easily done.It will take near to 15 minutes to connect all parts.------------- Thank you.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
The most common reason for this is that the water valve is bad on the back of the refrigerator. Most refrigerators with water and ice have a dual water valve, which will let water to teh icemaker but not to the water valve. If you can get ice out of the door then you can definately say it is a water valve.
Wrong! ok what it is you have a double water valve. 1 valve goes to the ice maker and one goes to the water dispensor. what you need to do is take the valve that goes to the ice maker by tracing the water line from ice maker to the valve and jump it direct with 110 volts. if you get water by doing that the ice maker is bad if you dont get no water that way it will be the water valve
somtimes the line to the ice maker frezes.you could test by putting 110 volts to the water valve direct[or inspect]water should then enter ice maker .your post dosent say your brand but most ice makers you can start by pulling on the harvest rake till starts.[mechanical only] if water valve good and line not frozen .then could be loss of power to ice maker[check at ice maker plug in at frezer] if thats ok then ice maker has failed, replace God bless, tom
one possible solution is that the ice maker water valve has failed (solenoid). I would try switching the wires on the water valves and see if water goes into the ice maker when you push the water dispenser button, if it does the valve is ok. If you go this far go ahead and fill the ice maker with water ( about half to two thirds full) switch wiring back as first found and see if maker will freeze and dump ice, if it does ok, if not the problem is probably in the ice maker.
ok do you have a meter a volt meter ill tell you a better way to do it go to the back of the refrigerator and un plug the water valves then open the freezer door turn on the water if you hear the water running replace the valves if you don't replace the ice maker module the range for pressure is 30-120psi the valve just might be sticking from being dry for so long
