Question about Sony SDM-HS73 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
When Sony SDM-HS73 is connected to a Toshiba Satellite PSAH8U-012RL3, both screens turn off and on constantly and a sign apears on the lap top: "The screen controller has failed and recovered satisfactorily" On one ocassion both devices turned off completely and I lost all the Photoshop work on an image. The computer is new and runs on Vista 64 bits. Is there anything that can be done?

SOURCE: Sony SDM-HS73 Not Staying On
The problem is with power inverter, usually the capacitors go bad and need to changed, they might be bulged and or leaking. Very cheap fix, less than a buck apiece and an hour with a solder iron. Google it to find more info.

The fault could be a faulty inverter board which supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or the CCFL lamp is faulty.
