Keypad goes to voice recorder

Anytime i try to use keypad, it buzzes then goes straight to voice recorder, which is now full. I have checked top and bottom connections and both are fully seated. When I turn it on holding down both # * keys, it goes to black screen for bootloading so I assume the keys are working somewhat. Any help greatly appreciated...ready to totally dismantle!!

Re: keypad goes to voice recorder

Hey all...after i messed with phone for couple hours...and took apart, per the instructions i found online...still no workie, so i took sim card out and we had a spare old phone i used for couple weeks. when i tried the phone worked. somehow it reset itself. i then made sure i transferred all numbers to sim card instead of storing on the phone. good luck to all with this problem....the phone store people told me same phone needed because of keypad...they just wanted a new sale i believe!! i also called cingular/at&t and asked them to resend whatever it is they send out that makes noise on the tv/computer if your phone is near it...i believe that is what screwed it up the first time, altho they wouldnt admit it. i am still using this phone with no futher problems as of yet!!

Doesn't help. Brought phone in for repair and was told "yeah, we've seen this alot" and the 'solution' was 'you need to buy a new phone'. Big help.... It is a fatal error in the phone mechanism, so be sure if you have this phone to back up what ya got somewhere.

I AM NOT CELLPHONE SAVVY ! I have an LG CG225. If someone is calling me and I do not answer and they want to leave a message, what do I need to do? create a voicemail box so they can leave a message? ...

Issues of accessing/setting up VM on your mobile or Inquiries on accessing your VM using your mobile phone?

I can help you w/that.there are 3 ways on accessing your VM via your mobile phone:

Long press the number 1 key on your phone's keypad then it'll dial your VM number and would ask for a PIN if PIN is setup.
Follow recording instructions or voice prompts and key presses until you get to hear your voice messages.

For some mobile phone service providers, dialing your own mobile number automatically transfers you to your VM.again,if PIN is set up?it'll ask you to enter it,if not it'll automatically proceed to your VM.
Follow recording instructions or voice prompts as well as correct key presses until you hear your voice messages.

Almost all mobile phone service providers has a so called "Voice mail Access Number"
This number can be dialled and goes straight to VM.
Voice prompts might ask you to enter your mobile number following the star key or pound sign on your mobilephone keypad.
Voice prompts might also ask you to enter your VM PIN(if seup).
Just follow Voice prompts and you're good to go.

Hope this helps.

My motorola tracfone goes straight to a recorded messege when you call it...can i only use it to call out?

The reason your phone goes straight to the recorded message is because the voice mail of your phone is active.

To solve this is simple, all you have to do is to deactivate the voice mail.

To deactivate this, what you have to do is dial ##002# and send it.

Then try to dial your number again to see what happens.

Take care.

My LG VX6100 won't accept voice messages

Problem solved! Turns out that my son didn't realize that you have to call your voicemail box and delete voice messages by pressing "7" on the keypad. He thought that when you pressed "erase all" on the text message menu it erased voice mail, too. So the mailbox was full, as it only holds twenty messages. Sometimes the most obvious solution is the solution!

Sounds like the phone may have gotten wet.

Check behind the battery, there is a white sticker that turns RED if its gotten wet.

Otherwise, there may be a short in the keyboard.

It may need to be replaced.

Best of Luck.

Keypad frozen, still receives calls

Hi, You don't need 2 flash your razr for this problem. What u need is a screen flex cable. The three buttons around the screen are controlled by a flex cable and the voice recorder is connected on this flex cable. This needs replacing but it's very tricky to deal with. I suggest a really good tech that deals with razr's to handle this problem to possibly replace the flex cable. This would solve yor frozen keypad problem. SAM !
