Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Pioneer DEH-1600 CD Player. Loose connection somewhere behind device as sound goes off and on when jarring stereo. How do I disconnect and pull out stereo to inspect. I have removed screws but stereo does not pull out easily. Is there some special instrument to pull out or do I just force? Manual is worthless.

Was this professionally installed? If so, the stereo will be held on by tabs behind the mounting bracket. You'll have to pry those down to slide the sleeve out to remove the stereo. There should be like 6 tabs you have to bend back down. Most likely you want to check your ground wire inside the dash.

If the unit was installed with a cage (most likely if your car is an domestic) you will use two pioneer keys that are L shaped that came with your radio to remove it and it will slide right out. If it was installed iso din (if your car is an import) using the factory brackets the radio is screwed into the car you will have to disasemble the dash which varies depending on the vehichle. What kind of car is it?

I need wiring color coding 4 pioneer deh 2050mpg? i know red is constant power.

Not to question you about the red being constant power but I have a pioneer deh-1600 car stereo and red is hooked to electric terminal controlled by ignition switch (on/off) and if your unit has a yellow wire that goes to constant power. The only problem with hooking up the red wire to constant would be if you happened to accidentally leave your player on it could drain the battery. Hope this helped a little. Good luck.

No sound output - pioneer DEHP6700MP

Sounds like a grounded speaker, disconnect each speaker and see if the sound comes back on through the remaining speakers connected. Its sounds like it is just in protection mode from a chssis ground. I hope this helps!

I dont know which wire in the memory to connect it to my after ma

The memory wire is usually the yellow wire in the harness - it goes to a constant 12v (battery) source. That's how the cd player remembers all of your presets. The red wire (the other power wire) is connected to a switched 12v source, so it only sees power when the key is on. That is why the cd player shuts off when you turn the key off.

Car stereo

Hi,

Most current Pioneer car stereos needs two wires plus the ground wire to be activated. The yellow is connected to the always on B+12 such as the positive terminal of the battery, the red goes to a switched B+12 such as the ACC of the IGN switch while the black of course goes to the chassis/body ground.

Should the above been done correctly and problem persist, then perhaps the fuse may have blown, there is a loose connector at the rear of the head unit or a probable internal electronic defect has developed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
