Could be a bad condensor or coil, flaking out when they get hot. If it starts ok after it cools down about an hour and is cold, then very likely the problem.
www.Ford8n.com would have everything you need for replacements.

If choking the carb helps, its gotta be a restriction in the fuel flow. You might just need to clean out the carb float bowl, and maybe there is a fuel inlet screen.(Outdoor power equipment tends to work in horribly dusty/dirty conditions-I have to clean the inlet screen in my chainsaw once a season).

Squeals when starting up

The squealing could be a belt slipping - the alternator would be working hard to charge the battery after being parked.
The lack of power could be a different issue. A 1992 model should not have a choke - it should be fuel injected.

Vehicl not, starting, before there is black smoke on the car and it has lack of power

if it has a carburetor take off the air cleaner and see if the choke flap usually on top is open, if not tie it open and run it awhile and see if the smoke goes away , with the choke open it'll be hard to start in cold weather so you may want to fix it

I have a 1948 8n. It starts and runs great when the weather is warm, but this year it won't start in the cold. However, if I let it sit in the sun for about an hour, it starts okay. I use it just...

The problem is the carburetor is not being choked. This tractor most likely has a manual choke. Do you see a knob which you would pull to choke the carburetor ?

Are you pulling the knob when you crank the engine ? If you are pulling knob and the engine doesn't start, the choke most likley has a broken or disconnected cable.

My 1949 8N Ford tractor, the starter just spins

My thought is you need a new "bendix" for lack of a better word. The device I speak of spins out and connects with the flywheel. There is the possibility you have electric problems but based on what you say, I think it is mechanical.
